"A medium bodied English style stout with a high roasted malt character and background cherry flavor. This beer is as sweet at Tom Selleck's mustache."
This beer came a pale black with thin brown around the edges. The head was an irregular film of creamy tan.
Smells of light smokey chocolates and dry toasty grains. This is backed by an artificial dark cherry that's somewhere between Jolly Ranchers and cough syrup. This fake cherry became all the more prominent as it warmed.
Tastes of toasted wheat bread with a touch of smoke and a distant undertone of cream. The sour graininess of this one blended well into the artificial dark cherry that reminded me a bit of Maraschino cherries. Fades to the grainy notes in the end. At first, this was very slick and well balanced but as it warmed, the cherry became much more prominent and a bit cloying.
This one felt slick and slightly dense with a micro-carbonation that sprang up complimenting the (positive aspects of the) flavor quite well.
This started as a real treat, but as it warmed, things got out of balance. Try one, but drink it quickly.
