- From what I was told, a unfiltered version of their German Pilsners which I sampled previously. Served in a pilsner glass.

A: Poured a hazy lemony-orange, but unlike the german pilsner its head was quick to collapse or show an appreciable lacing. Carbonation was quiet.

S: The aromatic presence seemed quite a bit lighter in character then their pilsner. Missing was the grainy and dominant dry hopping. A struggle to appreciate or identify much here and was expecting a bit more spiciness or zestiness per style.

T: Likewise the flavor was softer, more rounded and muted then their pilsner. Soft lemony-zest character was their, but had to struggle to identify and was subdued. Some hay like notes but lacked a zesty hopping which was outdone by their filtered version. This does redeem itself deeper into the experience with a sense of dry grains and spiciness coming through but maybe a bit to late and not as well defined.

M: The mouthful was light bodied, smooth with very little (if any) carbonation detection. A little lifeless and lacked a crispness.

D: Smooth drinkability wise, but lacked the character and excitement of their german pilsner. Good for a pint or two on a warm day but would gladly recommend its filtered version over this.

First had: on tap at Iron Hill, Media, PA

An unfiltered pilsner, this beer poured a slightly hazy golden-yellow color, moderately carbonated, with a puff of white head that dissipated rather quickly. Not much in the aroma, some grains and light citrus notes. Not too flavorful either. Dry grains, hay, pils malts, and some very subtle citrus notes. On the plus side, it was very light and drinkable, but with the general lack of flavor and body I typically enjoy, this is not something I'd ever revisit...pretty typical of the style. Good if you're in a non-adventurous mood.

App: Yellow, straw color, a bit cloudy due to this being an unfiltered beer. Small white head, minimal lacing.

Smell: The “huge hop bouquet” described by the brewery failed to materialize. Vague floral/grass on top of a generic malt note.

Taste: Very thin flavor characterized by a subtle floral hoppiness and faint cracker/grainy malt taste. Really gotta strain to get many flavor notes at all here, maybe a little lemon.

Mf: Very easy drinking, thin bodied, medium carbonation. Goes down like water but has more calories.

Overall: Perhaps the worst beer I had at Iron Hill. Very little flavor, extremely watery. Disappointing, and I can enjoy a good Keller once in a while. This isn’t it. Might do the trick for the Bud Light drinkers.

On tap at Iron Hill Media.

Served in a pilsener glass. Light, hazy golden color with wispy white head. Smell was underwhelming. Grainy, slightly malty, not much more. Smelled like a touch better than your standard BMC offering.

Taste was much better. Lacking in hoppy bitterness, but there was enough grass malts to make up for it. The carbonation was spot on and the taste dry, crisp and exceptionally clean.

Overall, a pleasant beer, but not anything earth shattering. I've had much better offerings from Iron Hill.

Had on-tap at Iron Hill in Media, PA. Poured a very light yellow color with a quickly receding white head. No lacing to speak of. Had an aroma of grains, malts and maybe a touch of sweetness. Tasted of earthiness, grains, malts and again...a finishing taste of sweetness with a bit of dryness. Honestly more complex and well-balanced than the typical Pils but still not really "good" and I was left with the feeling of wanting something more. Glad I only had a 4oz sample.

Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Probably would have liked it better if I was a fan of the style.
