Served in a pint.
A: Ice-tea color but with a fair amount of clarity. A slow and sparse carbonation shows vastly separated instances of bubbles, building upon a creamy 1 finger size head that sticks admirably. The lacing is generous on the coverage.
S: The smell of sweet dry caramelized grains first meets the nose. Earthy tea leafs, green fresh hops, moderate in strength. nothing really distinguishable.
T: The flavor starts off with some starchy caramelized grains, with flashes of sweetness upfront, that soon turns to a earthy tea leaf bitterness. The finish is dry of starchy grains once again. The hops are almost non existent, drinking like a modest English session mild beer rather ipa, the malt base is light.
M: Medium boided, soft and smooth texture on the mouthful. Light and creamy by nature. quiet carbonation.
O: Overall just an ok drinker, a bit one-dimensional flavor wise, lacks a good malty body and knockout hop punch to call this an ipa. My biggest gripe about this overall that was it was just ok by style, clean, nothing that would make me keep drinking, but when I got the bill for $6.50 a pint I was a bit perturbed. Definitely not even close satisfaction wise to charge this amount. I have no trouble paying this amount per pint for a beer that will blow me away, but this drank more like an English mild. 7.0% abv comes off almost non-existent. I did not deduct points per price issue. Overall this is an average beer by most regards and an even cheaper price would not make a difference enjoyment wise.
