Look: It pours very dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is good.
Smell: There are strong roasted elements in the aroma with bourbon. There are notes of vanilla, dark fruit, and wood.
Taste: It has strong roast flavors with vanilla. There are some bourbon elements and wood in support. There are some very low dark fruit notes and hints of brownie.
Feel: It has a full body with strong alcohol warming.
Overall, a solid beer with nice complex flavors and a touch of sharpness in the finish.

Iron Hill - North Wales. A 2012 World Beer Cup competition bottle, an RIS aged in bourbon barrels.
Apparently is getting a Sep 15th release. Thanks to stawn for this interesting tick! Tulip glass.
A: Pours black with a half finger of medium brown head. The head recedes within a minute to a healthy ring. A few lonely streaks of lace.
S: In-your-face bourbon, vanilla, coconut, sweet cream, and some faint roasty malt and milk chocolate.
T: Kind of a tannic, slightly bitter, toasted oak flavor that is a bit off. Maybe overoaked, it doesn't quite come together as well as it could. A little of the RIS, residual sugar, and alcohol shows through.
M: Medium body and medium carbonation.
O: A big, barrel-forward RIS, could be a bit better integrated.
