More of a dry stout, with prominent Belgian Chocolate. Enjoyable though one dimensional. A novelty to be shared rather than a range of flavours to be displayed in a meal. Still enjoyable, and to be saved for cooking. No off notes, good for what it is. Brown colored body with a little lasting head.

Served in a Mundelein Craft Beer Festival shaker pint glass.

Thanks to jyoung for this bottle!

Starting off our annual Christmas get-together with a milk stout brewed with Belgian chocolate and aged on cocoa nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans. Sounds right to me. It pours a deep black-brown topped by over a finger of light khaki foam. The nose comprises dark chocolate, mild roasted malts, and light vanilla bean. Thus far, it's living up to its press. The taste brings in more of the same, with even more dark chocolate coming to bear. Nice. The body is a very light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a smoothly fluid feel. Overall, if it weren't for its ridiculously thin (hell, it seemed nigh-watery) feel, this would have been a damn fine stout. Still, things ain't all bad, as everything else elicited smiles from the room.
