A - Golden colored, Light, and carbonated-looking. The head is very thin and light.

S - Sweet, you can smell the raspberries and it tickles the nose due to the bubbles.

T - Light taste, soft on the raspberry flavor so it is very refreshing, not overpowering at all. Not much body to the beer so for stout or heavy lager drinkers I can see how this beer may let you down. But if you enjoy Blue Moon, you'll most likely love this Raspberry Wheat.

M - Very drinkable, it is easy to chug this beer if you so chose, though I suggest just enjoying the flavor. It has the feel of a soda-water which again is refreshing.

O - I regularly order this beer when I dine at Iron Hill in Lancaster, PA. It is always on tap and it has become one of my favorite beers so I'm upset Iron Hill doesn't bottle and sell their beers outside of the restaurants so I could enjoy a case at home.

A: Poured a crystal golen-orange with a thin, skimp covering for a head that was dull while and almost immediately dissipated. The visible effervesce was faint with only 1 visible stream of micro bubbles lazily rising to the surface. Other then that there was not much else to go on here.

S: The nose was fresh and fruity with tart raspberries. Overall well suited per style and delivering as promised with hints of sugary sweetness that was detected several feet from the glass.

T: The flavor was tart and fruity with a modest helping of fresh raspberries that was well mannered and not overly sweet or bearing. Honestly wasn't expecting much from this drink but was pleasantly surprised how honest the flavor was and how well balanced it was as well. Hints of sugary sweetness does come through but is well balanced by the tart fresh berries that gives this a good balance.

M: medium full, slick and smooth with very little carbonation. A dry tart fruitiness laces the tongue sending the beer down with moderately good results.

D: Drinkability is good, even if your not a fan of fruit/herb beers. This is not, I repeat not a girlie drink, but a very enjoyable and well balanced fruit beer, and the nature of the drink should not stop you from sampling a glass. Would make for a good summer quencher and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. At 4.1%abv I could drink 2 or 3 of these without being overwhelmed.

Poured like a witbier - pale, hazy/cloudy gold - with a wispy, thin head of loose white foam that laced nicely.

Oh, the nose is wonderful. Such strong raspberry aroma...delicious. The nose carried thru to the tongue as the initial taste is ripe with raspberry (almost lambiclike), which faded to a slow fade to the beer's wheat origins. You can't help but think & taste summer. The throat was a luscious slide into a swirl of the beer's main proponents with a pleasingly bittersweet, yet mild, aftertaste.

This would be a great session offering, or go well with spicy food or even some desserts. A fantastic summer ale.

Pours a golden color with a small white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Small carbonation seen rising.

Aroma is raspberry. I happen to love raspberries, so this is a good thing for me.

Taste is raspberry, wheat and somewhat woody.

Mouthfeel is light bodied and dry.

Overall, an OK brew. Interesting. Worth a try if you are in the mood.

This beer came a dull copper gold with a slight film of head that stuck around for a while that left a little lace behind.

Smells powerfully of raspberries, but not in a good way. The smell is a good one, or even a convincing one, but it certainly not fresh raspberries we’re dealing with here. Behind the big fruitiness lies a slight, powdery dryness.

Tastes of a dull yeast that quickly is replaced by a big shot of raspberry (probably extract!). There are also elements of watermelon and orange here. This finishes with an odd “Jelly Belly” popcorn flavored jelly bean flavor and a touch of hop dryness on the roof of my mouth.

The mouth feel is light to medium bodied with a light foamy carbonation.

This one isn’t all that bad. The flavor is clearly synthetic, but it’s light, clean and refreshing. This one clearly isn’t for the beer nerd, but more of an easy drinkin’ summer beer for sure. Unless it’s over 90 and I’m outside on a deck, I’d rather not have this one again.

Had on tap at brew pub.

Hazy golden orange color very light head.

Nose has sweet fruity syrup, touch of raspberry, some sweet malty aromas not really sure about wheat.

Taste has sweet raspberry, fruity, light wheat, light toasty malts, syrupy fruit flavor not sure if there was any real fruit in it. Finishes a bit sticky and a weird fruit flavor on the finish.

Mouth is med to lighter bodied, decent carb.

Overall kinda meh, not my style of beer or at least not done to my liking. Not really a clean or good fruit taste, a bit fake tasting, very light and sweet and not clean on the finish either.

Having attended last Saturday's "Drink Your Wheaties" fest at SPTR, I feel eminently qualified to review a wheat beer.

It began with a finger-and-a-half of bubbly, bone-white head that began falling away rather quickly. The bubbles certainly brought out the raspberry nose, however. This was a fresh red raspberry scent that immediately transported me back to my late paternal grandmother's garden at 141 N. Broad St. She used to make homemade preserves with her berries, but I like the idea of putting them into beer better. In fact, I have been somewhere in my extensive travels (BOS Beer Works?) that puts actual berries into the beer just before presentation to the customer. The mouthfeel was medium, but all was secondary to the intense raspberry flavor on the tongue. It bordered on perfume-y, but Mr. Rutherford seemed to know just where to stop. The color was a slightly hazy golden-yellow. The finish lingered with raspberry. It was not a beer that I would make a steady diet of, but as a dessert beer? Sure! That, plus it beat the blandness of some of those straight wheat beers. Just sayin' ...

First had: on tap at Iron Hill, Media, PA

Not really my style, but it wasn't too bad. Light and somewhat refreshing. Fruit-infused wheat beers tend to disappoint me a lot. They always seem to sound better than they taste. But the ladies seem to like them.

Poured golden yellow with a light white head that didn't stay around too long. Aroma is of wheat and mild raspberry. Taste of acidic wheat and raspberry, mildly biting hops. Light mouthfeel with a bitter aftertaste. Moderately drinkable, but just not my style.
