Purchased as part of a variety 12-pack for $13.99 at a convenience store. Interesting label art, as usual, but I wish the brewery would indicate the style of beer. A moderate pour produces about 1/2 inch of bubbly white head, which dissipates really quickly, leaving no lace on the sides. The lightly carbonated brew is a pale honey-amber color.

I detect a fruity aroma, with a kiss of floral hops. A fruity-honey and spicy taste is quite noticeable and reminds me a little of mead. Undertones of melon and maybe a slight bit of banana are apparent. Just a touch of bitterness on the palate. The mouthfeel is rather thin but the beer is pretty refreshing.

T: light sweet corniness, grain, light breadiness, and a hint of toast. Finishes clean and quick with just a touch of citrus hops. 3.0
M: light-medium bodied. Appropriate carbonation. Very mild bitterness. 3.5
O: a fairly unexciting, yet easy drinking, mass-appeal craft beer. 3.0

poured from the bottle into a Weizen glass

A - Pours a hazy gold with a small layering of white bubbles for a head. The head is a thin ring of bubbles for most of the glass and no lacing is left behind.

S - Just a hint of wheat malt upon opening the bottle. In the glass, banana and clove notes subtly emerge.

T - A bit of banana and wheat malt upfront. More of the same with some clove in the body and a tiny bit of hops for balance. Clean banana and clove finish.

M - Thin bodied with an ample amount of carbonation. Although, not amazing, lends well to high drink ability during the Montana Summers, which I think is what this beer is going for.

Although this beer is much too cloudy to be considered a traditional Kristalweizen, it did have the flavor profile. Subtle and simple clove and banana notes made this a solid summer drinker that will offend few. Hopefully many Yellowstone tourists will give this a try and save some trout in the process.
