I had two bottles of this while making a dinner of Tilapia as I was looking forward the hefeweizen taste. The cloudy orange yellow had nothing dramatic in its appearence with no frothy head, even when I poured directly in. It smelled good with bananas and vanilla, but the first taste was nothing special. I was taken aback as I was expecting much greater things. The taste was similar to the smell but it lacked content or any muscle in both bottles.

I will try this again in the future, but I will try another source.

Poured into a weizen glass a hazed light yellow with some peach-like hue a large fluffy, clingy white head that settles very slowly leaving a globs of lace behind.First off I detected alot of smoke near rauch beer like really with notes of toasted grain and clove, flavors are very wheaty with a touch of odd funk and clove not much citrus going on.Cereal-like on the palate and refreshing but still a little odd but its still a solid American wheat beer.

Appearance: Cloudy golden pour with a large foamy head typical of good hefeweizen.

Smell: Not outstanding but obvious hints of banana, clove and spices, possibly nutmeg.

Taste: My sample was good but somehow underwhelming. Very smooth and creamy hinted with banana and spice for the most part. A little soft for me. Possibly just the batch. But i was hoping for more body and bigger flavours. Light maltiness.

Mouthfeel: Again, smooth and creamy. Nice carbonation and spritzy mouthfeel.

Drinkability. Not my favorite hefeweizen going but i still enjoyed this one a fair bit. I'd have it again.

The Ramstein Blonde pours a cloudy golden color. It had a very small fizzy head, that disappeared very quickly.

Its aroma is some bananas, yeast, and spicy cloves.

The taste is sweet malt and some subtle banana and other fruitiness initially. It has a slightly spicy clove finish, with an almost sweet aftertaste.

The beer is medium bodied, but I was surprised at the total lack of carbonation.

Overall, it is a nice, easy drinking wheat beer. The low carbonation hurts it some. I don't like the banana / beer combo, but it was pretty subtle in this beer.

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with an “enjoy before” freshness date. Thanks to vidaloca for the sample.

Appearance: Mild haze in the straw golden hue, thin lacing still hangs around.

Smell: Spicy, fermented wheat and a nutty yeast.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Semi-crisp with a moderate body, the spicy clove is mild with ripe pear and banana in the back. Lemony on the back. Some yeast and biscuity malt are in the mix. Finishes slightly dry.

Drinkability & Notes: Not bland but nothing stellar, I’d crave this in the dead of summer …

This is the best American hefe I have had. Layered head which sticks around, dark golden brew, mellow malt nose. This beer is vibrantly tasty, with some very assertive malt notes, an intense spritziness, and perfect balance with the hops which are also pretty assertive. The yeast gives it a real breadiness and boldness and the wheat wraps it all up in a thirst-quenching package. I definitely got the sour green apple flavor and there are some hard water qualities, I thought. Very in-your-face and very satisfying.

easy medium mouthfeel, with moderate yeast. Good carbonation. Banana aroma. Muted yellow, little head. Fruit, led by apple, cloves. Hint of lemon. Malt at end, .This was not as good on tap 1.75 years alter at David Copperfields though balanced with good hops, a high carbonation and a hop and yeast aroma.

Typical hefe appearance. Head retention is quite good; and very creamy - not big-bubbled. The lacing could be better though.

The nose offers some wheatish malt; some raw, spent-grain graininess; apple-like fruitiness; a suggestion of lemon tartness; a waft of spiciness; and a mushroom-like earthiness.

In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp, as is appropriate for the style. Some examples are more carbonated, but its still perfectly acceptable.

The flavor delivers a lightly sweet, wheaty and bready malt that's accented with a spritz of lemony tartness and a dull clove-like characteristic. The bitterness is restrained, and it's nicely balanced, leaving it quite round and drinkable.

Die Deutschen würden über dieses glücklich sein. Wir können nicht es recht anscheinend erhalten. Maybe next time!!!

A great selection - I loved the choice. Unfortunately Im not able to write this review with the beer in front of me, the six pack was a big hit at home this weekend, I had to fight for three of them.

A - Poured with a great big head to it, bright, not terribly cloudy for what it is. Great looking beer.

S - For a wheat (Blonde) or a Hefe style, I did not have all the characteristics (smell) that I expected.

Taste - I found this beer to be very very refreshing. I would not call it in anyway crisp, but it was light in a sense for again what I thought it should be. Sorry guys, I did this one with fruit (one way I got my wife to have one with me) frankly, if appropriate or inappropriate, I like this style brew with a lemon. Overall, it was not what I expected when the label says wheat.

M - I would call this a medium body beer which I think adds to its drinkability.

D - Loved it again. For all that I said above about my impression of the beer being light and not a true Hefe styled beer, I thought it had some real good quality to it. Im not sure if the sixth - seventh one in a night of enjoying would wear on me , but Id be willing to give this beer a good run on a night. This is an easy three bottles on the back deck at 4pm. Really good.

Great choice, I love the Beer Club

Had a bottle at Liberty St. Tavern in Allentown, PA. This is basically a lighter hefeweizen (being blonde and all). That being the case and taking this beer what it is - it's good. The weizen yeast dominates the flavor with a smooth, slightly creamy and fruity spice on top of a light, but sweet wheat (I got just a hint of sourdough once) and barley.Overall, quite a nice beer for the summer. Try one before the cold drives you to darker ales.

Ahh...good to see this great beer available near me once more! Pours a nice fluffy white head over predictably hazy deep golden liquid. Classic hefe nose: banana, bubblegum, malty n' fruity. The taste is those same aroma attributes, fresh and bready malt gives way to banana yeast flavors with a refreshing light bodied mouthfeel. Goes down smooth with a sweet malt kick tempered with a decent hopping level. Finishes long, flavorful and very tasty. High quality stuff...right up there with Heavyweight as one of the Garden States' primo microbreweries.

After some guy at my local store pleaded with me to try this beer I decided I would. This beer poured a watered down straw yellow color with little carbonation and a paper thin head. Smelled of lemo and bubblegum. Taste was bland and boring. Freshness date said good until june, so that wasn't the issue. Taste was of coriander, wheat, and fruit but that's it. This was light and watery and not too enjoyable. I will not be loking for this again.

A very active beer as you pour with a huge fizzy head but there is no retention or lacing to speak of. Carbonation is quite vigorous to see in glass. A lightly cloudy honey gold that sits like a soda.

Smell is apples and pear with a touch of lemon in the back. A light and mild spiciness. Some faint soap.

Taste is much like the nose with a stronger soapiness in the palate and finish. Some banana and wheat malt. Not a benchmark hefe which a you expect from a brewery that has wheat in their name. It implies specialization and focus on the little things in order to create a great American version of a German staple. A lost opportunity this one. Feel is overly carbonated and spritzy with a prickly sensation as you swallow.

Drinkability is one of the strong suits for this beer. Not much else to recommend it. A good one for hot days as it will quench the mightiest thirst.

Had a great time at the monthly beer tasting at High Point Brewery.

The Blonde is their Flagship. An interesting beer, if not one a my favorites. The quality is all there, great apperance, smell, mouthfeel. There is a unique quality to the taste and aroma of the beer that is too rare in brewing (I would not mistake this for any other beer).

However the fruit tones and sweetness of this beer, over powered the balance of the beer.

Presentation: Poured into a Weizen glass

Appearance: Golden body with a fast dissipating white head

Smell: Bananas, lemons, and cloves

Taste: Much more lemon-y mid-palate

Mouthfeel: A bit spritzy and overcarbonated

Drinkability: Good as a session beer

Overall: The classic (dunkel) is a LOT better

A- Poured into a regular pint glass, this beer shows a good amount of white head with some nice lacing. The beer itself is a an orange gold.

S- On the nose I get ample spice, citrus zest, and other scents I can't quite place.

T- The beer has a good amount of citrus and malt flavor. Unfortunately, for me the finish has a distinct syruppy flavor which was very off putting.

M- has a lot of carbonation and medium heaviness.

D- Average given the syruppy flavor and lack of a good finish.

A: Poured a beautiful bright orange, that was non-transparent with a fizzy quickly dissipating head that left no lacing and only a bare surface.

S: The nose yielded spicy oranges and wheat with a decent yeastiness.

T: much the same and pretty basic, spicy, sour oranges and a touch of yeastiness with some lemony tartness. Overall a simple, safe entry by style that I soon grew tired of after only a few sips.

M: light, very smooth with a slight carbonation tingle bringing out the sour oranges.

D: Ok drinkability wouldn't buy a six pack of this, but ok for a single purchase.

A - Interesting pour... Tons of chunky fizzy bubbles form into one fingers worth of crystal white head... Impressive retention... Tons of fast paced swimming carbonation throughout... Noticeable sediment throughout... Pale golden straw color with an ever so faint haziness...

S - Lemon zest... Wheat... Grain... Corriander... Clove... Faint hint of yeast... Pears... Pale malts....

T - Lemon cough drops... Slightly sugary... Wheat and grain... Some faint peppery notes... Tart...

M - Slightly creamy head... Surprisingly heavy... Biting prickly carbonation... Crisp... Medium bodied... A slight tartness...

D - A surprisingly assertive hefeweizen... Overly produced and manufactured and less natural, but still enjoyable...

Poured a golden haze with a decent head. I smelled clove and banana and was anixous to dive in. The taste had the obvious wheat with hints of bubblegum and banana. Nothing that blew me away. The mouthfeel was decent although I prefer a little more carbonation in my Hefe's. It is a drinkable and refreshing beer but not one of my favorite versions of the style.
