Our fresh traditional German-style weiss beer. Malty wheat bouquet brimming with clove and banana aromas. Wheat and barley balance with imported German Noble hops. Unfiltered for a natural flavor. The finish is malty, smooth and refreshing.

Appearance: Cloudy golden pour with a large foamy head typical of good hefeweizen.

Smell: Not outstanding but obvious hints of banana, clove and spices, possibly nutmeg.

Taste: My sample was good but somehow underwhelming. Very smooth and creamy hinted with banana and spice for the most part. A little soft for me. Possibly just the batch. But i was hoping for more body and bigger flavours. Light maltiness.

Mouthfeel: Again, smooth and creamy. Nice carbonation and spritzy mouthfeel.

Drinkability. Not my favorite hefeweizen going but i still enjoyed this one a fair bit. I'd have it again.

First off: Thanks go out to Dante for the chance to sample this beer.

Pours a murky peach, with a miniscule head that recedes quickly.

Nose is classic cloves and bananas, with smooth, almost creamy quality to the smell.

Taste is very nice. First hit on the palate is cloves, which is balanced on the midsip by a nice creamy banana sweetness that plays in. Aftertaste fades back to clovey bitterness. Overall, the flavor profile came across as somewhat of a Tripel mixed with a Hefe Weizen, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Mouthfeel is very nice. Carbonation is mild, making the clovey bitterness easy for me to handle (I usually find clove flavors harsh when the carbonation adds tartness).

Quite drinkable. If I hadn't given the second bottle away, I would certainly have opened it, too!

Honestly, this is the first Hefe Weizen I've liked enough to review. I can't say if it's a good interpretation of the style or not, but it's certainly a good beer.

Adequate weissbier. Vey haze amber in color. Minimal head. Very little lacing. Floral nose. Neutral taste. A very good weissbeer, particularly for a new jersey beer. No aftertaste. Excellent drinkability. Good session beer. Would recommend. Will review more in morning after I wake up

Acquired via trade from BillyB, so a big “Thank you” goes out to him.
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a weizen glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy yellow color, with a very thin white head that fades almost instantly and leaves very little lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of lemon, wheat clove spice, banana & yeast.

T: The bready wheat & yeast flavors are heavily in the forefront of this beer as you would expect from this style and especially from brewer with “wheat” in their name. There are some flavors of lemon, banana & spice in the background. The after-taste consists of wheat & lemon.

M: Very smooth and very crisp, light body, medium-to-high carbonation, very clean finish.

D: Tasty, goes down very easily, not filling at all, it’s quite refreshing, light and an excellent representation of the style. This one is well-worth sticking with if you’re looking for something easy.

Poured a cloudy light copper hue with a three finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a nice banana and clove aroma with a touch of lemon zest.

The taste consisted of a good wheat body, with some chewy yeast and a nice lemony finish.

The mouthfeel was good and chewy.

Overall a nice interpretation of the style. Not the best American hefe out there, but good nonetheless.

What an interesting unique Hefe.

Appearance: Very cloudy golden lemon color with a creamy head.

Smell: Yeast driven aroma follows with wheat banana and sprinkle of clove.

Taste: The flavor is clearly dominated by the yeast and yet it is quite unique. This is a yeast strain the brewer (whom I met) brought back from Germany. It is very bold and does make for a flavorful Hefe Weizen. Following the unique yeasty character is a lemon citrus tart, wheat, fruit, and spices. There is a hint of bread and a hint of bitter dry in the end. Nice.

Mouthfeel: Very full in th mouth and creamy smooth.

Drinkability: This is a very unique Hefe Weizen that is worth trying. It is as drinkable a Hefe as I could expect.

Hope this is helpful.

This beer poured a amber / orange color with a relatively thin head head. The wheat was predominent on the nose, but cloves and fruit were noticeable. The flavor was a nice balance of wheat, spice, mild citrus and a light bitterness. The carbonation level was very light, but this beer was refreshing. The mouthfeel was smooth and this is not a wimpy light bodied wheat beer. Overall a consistant and enjoyable brew.

Poured a quite muddy orange-gold, with plenty of carbonation but not as much as, say, a Weihenstephaner. It does explode as you sit the glass down after a sip. Good lace, solid rocky head.

Had a somewhat quiet nose of banana and white grapes/green apple, a thin sugary element to these. Also cinammon and cloves with a swirl and a little warming. Tasted a little sweet spicy like nutmeg & cloves, backed by a biscuit background - in sum, though, a very light tasting beer. Middle was a creamy lactic flavor with lemon zing. Interesting yeast, it helped make a nice and soft spicy & bready burp.Had a short finish that ended with quite a clay bitter. I had to go back for more quickly after it left my palate.

Even still, very refreshing – have one before you eat your dinner. Very easy to drink, though in general it tasted of an okay wheat and malt; tasted a little immature and not all developed. Very shy to show itself. Maybe my bottles were getting past their due date, or maybe its because I've drank a fair share of Weihenstephaner and Brooklyner Weisse, but this wasn't all that impressive, just a solid good (and relatively cheap).

Picked up a single in Buffalo.

Pours a clear golden, thick white head forms, drops down to a thin layer, nice thick ring, few lace spots. Smell is spicy, lots of banana/clove, yeast, bit of bread, caramel, sweet sugar, very clean and pleasant. Taste is clovey, banana/vanilla middle, touch of caramel, fruity spice finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Nice beer, I like the High Point brews I've had.

A great selection - I loved the choice. Unfortunately Im not able to write this review with the beer in front of me, the six pack was a big hit at home this weekend, I had to fight for three of them.

A - Poured with a great big head to it, bright, not terribly cloudy for what it is. Great looking beer.

S - For a wheat (Blonde) or a Hefe style, I did not have all the characteristics (smell) that I expected.

Taste - I found this beer to be very very refreshing. I would not call it in anyway crisp, but it was light in a sense for again what I thought it should be. Sorry guys, I did this one with fruit (one way I got my wife to have one with me) frankly, if appropriate or inappropriate, I like this style brew with a lemon. Overall, it was not what I expected when the label says wheat.

M - I would call this a medium body beer which I think adds to its drinkability.

D - Loved it again. For all that I said above about my impression of the beer being light and not a true Hefe styled beer, I thought it had some real good quality to it. Im not sure if the sixth - seventh one in a night of enjoying would wear on me , but Id be willing to give this beer a good run on a night. This is an easy three bottles on the back deck at 4pm. Really good.

Great choice, I love the Beer Club

Thanks to Bitterbill for this brew.

Pours a cloudy pale yellow color, nice carbonation, tiny fizzy white head, some sticky lacing afterwards. The nose is yeasty, malty, banannas, clove, and grassy. The taste is malty, yeasty, nice touch of clove. Medium body. Drinkable, this is a pretty tasty Hefe, glad to have had a chance to try it, thanks Bill.

This ours from 12oz bottle(best by Aug 2007) a cloudy straw colour with a very small head of foam that dissipates completely after a very short time with no lacing.

The smell has a wheat nose with some citrus and spice.

The taste on first sip has a nice burst of banana and clove followed by wheat and yeast. Another sip and there's some tartness, no actually, a lot of tartness...very lemony. That's something that would work quite well in the hot summer days of Casper, no doubt.

The mouthfeel is good for the style, the carbonation is light. and the finish ends up with the banana that I noted on the first sip. Solid. Good. Tasty.

Bottom line: This would be a good thirst quecher for the summer season and I thank jwc215 for including this one in our trade!

Color: hazy, light orange. Head: small, white, and soon disappearing.
Aroma: sweet, fruity, large and yeasty, very nice.
Good, pleasing burst of hops, very light on the palate afterwards, and just a little short on weizen texture. Perhaps that, though, is their aim with this wheat, to be lighter, more drinkable.
Body is light, but taste is very good. Yum. I like. Ultra smooth, does the job.
Thanks to BeerFan for sharing.

I found this on tap at Ludwig’s

This beer came a mysteriously dark lemon color that wasn’t too cloudy. There was no head here to be found.

Smells of raspberries, lemons and banana with a light milky yeast and a cool wheat.

Tastes very light with a sweet raspberry and lemon and a slightly powdery banana accompanied by a good blend of yeast.

The mouth feel was light but dense and silky. Arguably it was too dense.

There are some nice fruity flavors going on here and it’s really easy to drink. However, for the style, it was a bit different.

Typical hefe appearance. Head retention is quite good; and very creamy - not big-bubbled. The lacing could be better though.

The nose offers some wheatish malt; some raw, spent-grain graininess; apple-like fruitiness; a suggestion of lemon tartness; a waft of spiciness; and a mushroom-like earthiness.

In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp, as is appropriate for the style. Some examples are more carbonated, but its still perfectly acceptable.

The flavor delivers a lightly sweet, wheaty and bready malt that's accented with a spritz of lemony tartness and a dull clove-like characteristic. The bitterness is restrained, and it's nicely balanced, leaving it quite round and drinkable.

Die Deutschen würden über dieses glücklich sein. Wir können nicht es recht anscheinend erhalten. Maybe next time!!!

12 oz, poured into a tall weizen glass.

Ideal color for a blonde wheat beer, beautiful and golden. Not much head to speak of - it's straw in color, formed roughly a 1 cm head, and did not last even a minute.

Smells good - I enjoy a beer that I don't have to spend too much time sleuthing, and this is a prime example. You get a nice combination of apple, orange, wheatgrass, clove and banana that are well-balanced for your nose. Simple but just right.

Tastes as good as it smells, and does not disappoint - confirmation of all that you smelled, well-balanced. Go figure that a brewery from New Jersey could represent with such a decent beer. I liked it from start to finish.

Mouthfeel was good - nice level of carbonation, good in the way that all flavors hit the tongue and palate nicely, and finished well.

Drinkability was great - I could see myself having many more of these as a thirst-quenching solution. Not so much ABV that it knocks you on your keister, and it went very well with my chicken quesadilla. Looking forward to my next offering from this brewery.

Appears a hazy gold color with a small white head that slowly fades into a thin collar. Spotty lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of crisp, fresh wheat with some banana esters, cloves, fresh dough, lemony zest, and a hint of bubblegum.
Taste is of the same zesty flavors from the Bavarian yeast strain.
Mouthfeel is yeasty, fruity, semi dry, and crisp.

Got a pint of this at the Cloverleaf.

A: Pours a golden brown body with a nice, white head with low retention but decent lacing along the sides of the glass.

S: A sweet, malty smell with some banana esters being evident. A little metallic smell, similar to the Platinum, but not as evident.

T: A smooth, sweet malty taste with some banana esters to balance. Esters were more evident in the aftertaste.

M: A smooth, silky mouthfeel that felt a little light, but nice nonetheless. Definitely a crisp and refreshing brew.

D: A fairly drinkable beer. Nice combination of mouthfeel and taste makes this a formidable Wheat beer.

Thanks to fishingnet for this one.

A: Pours a light yellow hue with tons of bubbles. Avgerage head and retention.

S: Light wheat aromas with hints of banana and yeast.

T: Same as the nose with the addition of a splash of citrus.

M: Nice and light, very tasty.

D: Enjoyable on this hot Florida evening.

A - As expected it has a yellow hazy tint in color yet as others stated the head fades rather quickly to a mild lace ring.

S - A nice bit of fruity yeasts, clove, sweet malts, and a bit of coriander.

T - I do get some blond tones of mild grains and sweet malts along side of some mild Hefe tones of lemon, clove and wheat.

M - Medium yet balanced yeast tones.

Overall I will seek out their other beers (maybe the dunkel next) since this one impressed me a bit.

This beer is listed as a Hefe Weizen, but on the bottle it says that it is a lager, which goes against the standard Hefe Weizen which is an ale as far as I know.

Appearance - Gigantic white head that sticks around and thick lacing that nearly coats the glass completely, perfect for any wheat beer. The beer is blonde as the name suggests, but it is a hazy blonde. There are also streams of fast carbonation that helps keep the head inflated.

Smell - Apple cider and some spiciness. There are also hints of alcohol; it smells good, but definitely not a standard Hefe Weizen aroma.

Taste – This is an unusual beer. At first it has a sweet and sour apple taste, but it finishes with more of a grain/malt taste generally not found in beers of this style. No hops to speak of, but that fits for the style. Yeast flavor is equally subdued, which is odd for the style. It is clear that this was made with more barley in it to than most wheat beers, again a little strange.

Mouthfeel – Medium with sparkly carbonation that dances on the tongue. This is spot on.

Drinkability – It is certainly quenching and tasty and unlike any other wheat beer I have had, either American or European. Not really a Hefe Weizen, but certainly not any other style that I know of.

Poured into a weizen glass a hazed light yellow with some peach-like hue a large fluffy, clingy white head that settles very slowly leaving a globs of lace behind.First off I detected alot of smoke near rauch beer like really with notes of toasted grain and clove, flavors are very wheaty with a touch of odd funk and clove not much citrus going on.Cereal-like on the palate and refreshing but still a little odd but its still a solid American wheat beer.

High Point is local, but surprisingly, this beer isn't that easy to find or readily available around here. With spring finally here and in full bloom, I figured that this would be a good brew for the season and great to try since I haven't had any of their offerings since I enjoyed their Winter Wheat several months ago. This was a great beer, but it certainly didn't live up to it's potential either.

The pour was great, even though the head didn't last too long and the lacing was nearly nonexistent. There was a fine dusting on the bottom of the bottle that was worth swirling and pouring on top of my point, and the brew had a wonderful translucent goldenrod hue to it. The taste was very solid, but not as colorful as I had hoped. Banana, coriander, and clove were there, but there was nearly no hop flavor to it and the aftertaste wasn't very memorable since it was just a heavy malt presence and not much else to it. The carbonation and mouthfeel were very nice though, and I loved the way it tingled and felt on the upper half of my mouth both during my sips, and afterwards.

I'd certainly have this beer again. The 5.50% ABV nearly makes this a good session brew and it was something that I wouldn't chug nor take too slow in enjoying. I wish it had a bit more oomph and surprise to it. It's very nonpretentious and unsurprising since the first sip wasn't any different than the last. Being well-crafted is always a plus, and high point has a very great yeast strain and basis to build their portfolio of offerings from. If only their flagship was a bit more adventurous and aware of it's potential...

A - Pours mahogany brown, with short off white head. Little lacing.

S - Aroma is of wheat, caramel. Very subtle; doesn't jump out at you.

T - Wheat, dark fruit, cocoa, hint of tobacco? Lots of sweetness, a bit off balance.

M - Smooth, medium body. Average carbonation

D - Easy drinking, would make a great session beer.
