This ours from 12oz bottle(best by Aug 2007) a cloudy straw colour with a very small head of foam that dissipates completely after a very short time with no lacing.

The smell has a wheat nose with some citrus and spice.

The taste on first sip has a nice burst of banana and clove followed by wheat and yeast. Another sip and there's some tartness, no actually, a lot of tartness...very lemony. That's something that would work quite well in the hot summer days of Casper, no doubt.

The mouthfeel is good for the style, the carbonation is light. and the finish ends up with the banana that I noted on the first sip. Solid. Good. Tasty.

Bottom line: This would be a good thirst quecher for the summer season and I thank jwc215 for including this one in our trade!

Color: hazy, light orange. Head: small, white, and soon disappearing.
Aroma: sweet, fruity, large and yeasty, very nice.
Good, pleasing burst of hops, very light on the palate afterwards, and just a little short on weizen texture. Perhaps that, though, is their aim with this wheat, to be lighter, more drinkable.
Body is light, but taste is very good. Yum. I like. Ultra smooth, does the job.
Thanks to BeerFan for sharing.

Poured a cloudy light copper hue with a three finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a nice banana and clove aroma with a touch of lemon zest.

The taste consisted of a good wheat body, with some chewy yeast and a nice lemony finish.

The mouthfeel was good and chewy.

Overall a nice interpretation of the style. Not the best American hefe out there, but good nonetheless.

This beer poured a amber / orange color with a relatively thin head head. The wheat was predominent on the nose, but cloves and fruit were noticeable. The flavor was a nice balance of wheat, spice, mild citrus and a light bitterness. The carbonation level was very light, but this beer was refreshing. The mouthfeel was smooth and this is not a wimpy light bodied wheat beer. Overall a consistant and enjoyable brew.

Picked up a single in Buffalo.

Pours a clear golden, thick white head forms, drops down to a thin layer, nice thick ring, few lace spots. Smell is spicy, lots of banana/clove, yeast, bit of bread, caramel, sweet sugar, very clean and pleasant. Taste is clovey, banana/vanilla middle, touch of caramel, fruity spice finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Nice beer, I like the High Point brews I've had.

Poured a quite muddy orange-gold, with plenty of carbonation but not as much as, say, a Weihenstephaner. It does explode as you sit the glass down after a sip. Good lace, solid rocky head.

Had a somewhat quiet nose of banana and white grapes/green apple, a thin sugary element to these. Also cinammon and cloves with a swirl and a little warming. Tasted a little sweet spicy like nutmeg & cloves, backed by a biscuit background - in sum, though, a very light tasting beer. Middle was a creamy lactic flavor with lemon zing. Interesting yeast, it helped make a nice and soft spicy & bready burp.Had a short finish that ended with quite a clay bitter. I had to go back for more quickly after it left my palate.

Even still, very refreshing – have one before you eat your dinner. Very easy to drink, though in general it tasted of an okay wheat and malt; tasted a little immature and not all developed. Very shy to show itself. Maybe my bottles were getting past their due date, or maybe its because I've drank a fair share of Weihenstephaner and Brooklyner Weisse, but this wasn't all that impressive, just a solid good (and relatively cheap).

Appearance: Cloudy golden pour with a large foamy head typical of good hefeweizen.

Smell: Not outstanding but obvious hints of banana, clove and spices, possibly nutmeg.

Taste: My sample was good but somehow underwhelming. Very smooth and creamy hinted with banana and spice for the most part. A little soft for me. Possibly just the batch. But i was hoping for more body and bigger flavours. Light maltiness.

Mouthfeel: Again, smooth and creamy. Nice carbonation and spritzy mouthfeel.

Drinkability. Not my favorite hefeweizen going but i still enjoyed this one a fair bit. I'd have it again.

What an interesting unique Hefe.

Appearance: Very cloudy golden lemon color with a creamy head.

Smell: Yeast driven aroma follows with wheat banana and sprinkle of clove.

Taste: The flavor is clearly dominated by the yeast and yet it is quite unique. This is a yeast strain the brewer (whom I met) brought back from Germany. It is very bold and does make for a flavorful Hefe Weizen. Following the unique yeasty character is a lemon citrus tart, wheat, fruit, and spices. There is a hint of bread and a hint of bitter dry in the end. Nice.

Mouthfeel: Very full in th mouth and creamy smooth.

Drinkability: This is a very unique Hefe Weizen that is worth trying. It is as drinkable a Hefe as I could expect.

Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

First off: Thanks go out to Dante for the chance to sample this beer.

Pours a murky peach, with a miniscule head that recedes quickly.

Nose is classic cloves and bananas, with smooth, almost creamy quality to the smell.

Taste is very nice. First hit on the palate is cloves, which is balanced on the midsip by a nice creamy banana sweetness that plays in. Aftertaste fades back to clovey bitterness. Overall, the flavor profile came across as somewhat of a Tripel mixed with a Hefe Weizen, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Mouthfeel is very nice. Carbonation is mild, making the clovey bitterness easy for me to handle (I usually find clove flavors harsh when the carbonation adds tartness).

Quite drinkable. If I hadn't given the second bottle away, I would certainly have opened it, too!

Honestly, this is the first Hefe Weizen I've liked enough to review. I can't say if it's a good interpretation of the style or not, but it's certainly a good beer.

Adequate weissbier. Vey haze amber in color. Minimal head. Very little lacing. Floral nose. Neutral taste. A very good weissbeer, particularly for a new jersey beer. No aftertaste. Excellent drinkability. Good session beer. Would recommend. Will review more in morning after I wake up

Acquired via trade from BillyB, so a big “Thank you” goes out to him.
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a weizen glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy yellow color, with a very thin white head that fades almost instantly and leaves very little lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of lemon, wheat clove spice, banana & yeast.

T: The bready wheat & yeast flavors are heavily in the forefront of this beer as you would expect from this style and especially from brewer with “wheat” in their name. There are some flavors of lemon, banana & spice in the background. The after-taste consists of wheat & lemon.

M: Very smooth and very crisp, light body, medium-to-high carbonation, very clean finish.

D: Tasty, goes down very easily, not filling at all, it’s quite refreshing, light and an excellent representation of the style. This one is well-worth sticking with if you’re looking for something easy.

Poured cloudy orange with a thin white lace.
The smell was clean and crisp. It was of clove, apple and a hint of banana.
The taste was like the smell. Medium-bodied: clove, appple and a touch of banana. The flavors remained - and even became slightly stronger - throughout the drink.
It does thin a bit (watery?) when swirled in the mouth, but the flavors are fairly well-retained. It leaves a fresh feel.
Overall, it was very smooth and easily drinkable. It is one of the best, if not the best, of the several American versions of this style that I've had. A good choice for the style.

Pours golden straw very little head that disapates quckly leaving very little lacing. Smells tangy slightly lemon and clove--less banana on this one than others
i've tried. Slightly tart pear/lemon taste with good clove and a buscuit finish. Very tart with every sip but overall clean and bright. Good for drinking on a hot summer day. The tart bite with each sip takes away from the drinkability and mouthfeel slightly--left a sting in the back of my throat. But the flavor is very nice making this one I'll reach for again.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a small, slightly sticky white head. Some banana yeast esters in the nose but mostly just solid toasty wheat, very nice. Smooth, clean and traditional, nothing mold breaking here, surely refreshing with a crisp, slightly bitter finish. Light/medium in body, unfiltered and not watery by any means, very drinkable, Jersey's best wheat beer? I think so.

A very enjoyable local hefeweizen. Unfortunately no freshness date, but I managed to pick up a fresh six pack from a store with high turnover. Cloudy light hefeweizen appearance and typical banana aroma, with mild spice hints. Same with the taste, light spice flavor. Moderate head for a wheat beer. This is a match for any German hefeweizen. Not as good as another local hefe, Brooklyner Weisse, but well worth the price. I will drink this over my imported favorites any day. Kudos to Ramstein.

Sampled on-tap at Andy's Corner Bar.

This hefeweizen poured a hazy, golden color with white foam that settled. The smell was banana, cloves, toasted coconut, malt, and a hint of citrus. The taste was malty with modest clove phenols and a light fruitiness (bananas and lemons). The mouthfeel was smooth with a tanginess. The body was medium-full with low carbonation. The finish was tangy and citrusy. This was a good, enjoyable hefeweizen.

Available locally and often, we'll serve this in a traditional hefeweizen glass at just over fridge temperature. Best by January '08.

Appearance- Light to medium gold, this pours rather clearly, with a two-finger white head that dissipates faster than most other beers of this style. With the yeast addition, the cloudiness seems much more minimal than usual.

Smell- Spot on and appetizing, the wonderful nose of bananas and bubble gum with clove fills the air. It remains strong and balanced throughout the tasting.

Taste- A delectable balance of banana, wheat malt, and smooth, spicy yeast and hops. Beautifully executed, these soft flavors don't exhaust the palate.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability- Soft, slick, and rolling in the mouth. The gentle carbonation sustains the entire duration, as easy and enjoyable as anything I've had. A first rate domestic hefeweizen, and a must try for any fans of the style.

I forgot to review this after going to Long Island Spring Craft festival. I did their Octoberfest but my favorite, thier heffe notes were on the back page(so glad i kept them).

A: Poured into mini heff glass, a hazy yellow with a beaufitul two fingers white head with slow lacing down the side of the glass and an understated retention.

S: Nose was of smart sweet banana, along with malt, toasted wheat, yeasts and citrus(lemon peels) coming in at the end.

T: To some extent it followed the nose, with the yeasty being the most prominent components. Think i may have detected some pear beyond the banana in the esters and some buscuit malts. Tettnang hops easily noticeable.

M: Smooth and creamy at first, perhaps this batch was special for the festival as I've seen other reviews that did not match my findings. Crisp 2nd and then going dry, a new one for me.

D: I enjoyed this one very much. While not the most pungent of Heffe's in the category, it's nothing short of remarkable for a NYC Metro area creation.

Brewery filled growler.

A nicely hazy body, with good carbonation streams. In my weisse glass, it is a very pale yellow at the bottom, picking up a slighty orange aspect in the wider top of the glass. A nice white one finger head, probably would have been higher if the growler seal had been a turn tighter. Good stretchy lacing.

Good bananas and bubble gum up front in the nose, bit of musty clove in the background. Just what you would expect, and though I might have wanted the aroma a tad bolder, this will invite anyone and scare no one.

Taste is light and refreshing, as the wheat dances across the tongue. Some pepper. There's a light touch of fruit mixed into the finish. Fades away gently.

Mouthfeel is smooth and light. Drinkability: easy and tasty.

Odd for me to be having a hefe this time of year, but when I stopped in a High Point I realized I hadn't had their's in a long while. Memo to self , and others: pick up some of this next summer.

A golden straw colored brew topped with a nice fluffy white head that will leave sticky lace all over the glass. Big nose of pre-ripe bananas and nice spices. Some yeast and grainy notes as well.

Tingly carbonation starts you off, and it then gives way to a creamy smooth mouthfeel. The banana flavor is in full effect. Cloves and an array of spices balance it out to make for a sensational weiss. Very drinkable with some refreshing qualities to it. It is simply a well-made beer.

Ahh...good to see this great beer available near me once more! Pours a nice fluffy white head over predictably hazy deep golden liquid. Classic hefe nose: banana, bubblegum, malty n' fruity. The taste is those same aroma attributes, fresh and bready malt gives way to banana yeast flavors with a refreshing light bodied mouthfeel. Goes down smooth with a sweet malt kick tempered with a decent hopping level. Finishes long, flavorful and very tasty. High quality stuff...right up there with Heavyweight as one of the Garden States' primo microbreweries.
