Cloudy brown with orange highlights body, topped by a fist-plus of rocky off-white foam, dense in spots, macro bubbly in others. Excellent lacing.

Aroma rich in toffe, bread, toast, yeast. Some fruity touches off to the side including a bit of plum and a spattering of raisins.

Nice toasty malt leads across the tongue, with some toffee support. Mild fruity notes around the edges. Nice deep earthy hop signature at the swallow. Clean finish.

Good medium mouthfeel flows easy but coats the mouth. Drinkability is so good I may kill the growler while writing the review.

A bit under the radar even by High Point non-wheat standards. Damn fine alt. Seek it out at the brewery or as a house beer at Circa.

On-tap at Circa:

Appearance is dark brown with a thin, bubbly tan head.

Not much of an aroma comes through - some dark malt on swirling.

The taste is of toffeeish malt. Some nuttiness. Toast. Just a nod from earthy hops to balance out the medium sweetness in the finish.

It's on the lighter side of medium body. Some flavor lingers.

It's a decent alt.

Thanks to dickinsonbeer for this...
Appears a dark, transparent mahogany with a small off white head that quickly fades out. Tiny speckles of lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of toffee, doughy malt, chocolate, green hops, dark fruit, nuts, and caramel.
Taste is of the same aromas. There is almost a prune presence found in the flavors as well that is typical of a Belgian Dubbel but not necessarily an altbier.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sugary, with raisins, and cocoa mixed with sugar lingering along the palate.

A nice find for me. It pours out a nice bronze color, but the head dies fairly quickly. The nose is like one of those starwberry candies, the ones with the gooey center that come wrapped in the red plastic with yellow dots and the green top. The tast emimmicks the nose along with some peach and a littel yeast. It finishes very clean with good mouthfeel. A nice find, and a drinkable beer.

This is a serving of High Point's Circa Alternator Alt near room temperature.

Appearance: The ale has a brownish color that is slightly hazy. There is a small ring of head.

Smell: A firm biscuity malt aroma comes out of the glass.

Taste: The ale has a caramel/biscuit flavor that dominates the beer. The flavor is a bit thin and does not last too long. There is not much hop flavor here either.

Mouthfeel: The malt is somewhat thin, hurting the flavor.

Drinkability: I could only palate one glass of this, as the overall flavor was not that impressive.
