Served on-tap at Little Town NJ in Hoboken, NJ
A: Pours a very lightly hazy medium golden yellow in color with heavy amounts of visible carbonation (including a number of bubbles that were not moving around even about 10- minutes after the pour) and light hints of yellow highlights. The beer has a half finger to finger tall foamy white head that slowly reduces to a medium patch of thick film with a very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of bready and toasted malts along with some light to moderate aromas of grassy, floral, and herbal hops.
T: Upfront there is a moderate to strong flavor of bready malts with some lighter notes of toasted malts. Light flavors of grassy, floral, and herbal hops that impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness that lingers.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Definitely an enjoyable brew and another quality beer from Ramstein. I tend to like my Pilsners a little crisper than this one but it was easy to drink and the alcohol was relatively well hidden.

On tap at the Pilsener Haus in Hoboken. Deep gold with a sizeable head that settles slowly; nice sheets of lace clinging to the glass. Sweet and malty aroma, bread and caramel, some floral hops peeking out underneath.
Flavor follows suit; bready toasted malt; caramel and honey sweetness that dries out a bit, but not totally, in the finish; low bitterness and a restrained floral and grassy hoppiness. Booze becomes somewhat noticeable in the aftertaste but is not overly assertive.
Medium body and carbonation; has some heft to it. Nice enough beer, not exactly a style I usually clamor for, preferring my Pils on the lighter, crisper side, but well-made, as everything by High Point is. Not a standout of their catalogue for me, however.

As of this review, the Imperial Pilsner has just shown up in bottles. Let's Have some more of those lagers, Ramstein!
I guess the Imperal Pilsner fad is over by now, but this turns out to be too good to pass up. It pours a crystal clear amber-gold with a one finger tight head. The nose is similar to Troegs Cultivator, kind of like a hop-forward Maibock, except this one has a richer Pilsner malt character. The first few sips are like a Maibock as well, but then the hop bitterness makes its presence known. Towards the end of the glass it's all Hallertauers in the nose and balance on the palate, the Pilsner qualities asserting themselves and asking if you'd like another glass. Damn straight I would! This stuff can be very dangerous at 7%.
Better late than never, Greg and Co.- great job.

Ramstein Imperial Pilsner
Pours a hazy gold. Nice creamy head for a growler pour. Spotty lacing, average retention. (3.5)
Aroma is hoppy, with a bit of bruised fruit ester. Some nice aromatics coming from the hops, ranging from grass to flowers to kiwi. (3.5)
Flavor is clean, hoppy and grainy. Lots of bitterness, but the doughy malt sweetness still comes through. Honey, light citrus, earthy hops. Very clean overall, with maybe a touch of high-gravity banana ester and acetaldehyde. Refreshing and easy to drink, just wished the carbonation were a good bit higher [growler pour…] (3.5, 3)
Nice beer, one of the best and most drinkable I've had from High Point/Ramstein. (4)

Growler from the brewery.
Big billowing white head. Golden body with some haze. Good stretchy lacing.
Aggressive hay/grass aroma.
Big sweet solid foundation slathers the tongue. Aggressive noble hops bite and snap at the swallow.
Medium mouthfeel, properly thicker than the regular pils.
A nice sturdy addition o he Ramstein roster.
