500ml Brown bottle obtained from 'Beers of Europe' here in the UK.

The beer was poured into pint sleeve glass.

Impressive looking beer, deep, dark ruby red in colour, clear and clean. The cream coloured head that sat on top managed to stay for most of the tasting, but left no lacing on the glass.

Very little, if any aroma, I do struggle with most lager/pilsner based beers to find any real smell on most occasions. There were hints of malts and traces of molasses if I put my nose into the glass as the beer warmed, but initially there seemed to be nothing.

The taste was sharp, crisp and more malt than hop, fairly well carbonated and 'alive' with an almost fizzy mouthfeel.

Too be fair, it is one of the better beers of this style I've had, the alcohol content helping to appease me and giving it a bit of body and depth others within this style have failed to do.

Amber brown color, quite abundant beige foam, with some big bubbles.
Malt and caramel in the smell. A little too strong and sweetie. Not very fresh.
Normal taste, too, caramel malt. Honest dunkel, no more.
Some dry plums? Peanuts?
Normal body.
Not so much in the aftertaste, some sweet malt. Maybe too much caramel.

A: Pours deep copper with a massive with a pale brown creamy head. Slow dissipation leaves very rich lacings.

S: Rather mild. Sweet, honey-like roasted malt. Some bitter hops but mainly sweetness. Bready.

T: Sweetness. Dark roasted bready malt. Bitter. Some dark dried fruits. Some bitter dark chocolate.

M: Long bitter aftertaste. Medium body and low carbonation.

O: A nice Dunkel Lager. The honey is especially nice.

A clear, dark brown beer with a fading head. It looks great in my 0,5 liter glass.

Smell is malty, a little green. Some molasses and light husk smell. Lots of caramel. Smell is clean and full.

Taste is full, although a bit one-dimensional, the caramel and dark malts give this beer notes of plums, cherries and molasses. The yeast is pretty clean. Hops are not present, there is some malt bitterness. Drinkability is great, it goes down very easily, despite the sweetness of the beer. A really nice beer, more or less like a light version of a Doppelbock.

Half-liter bottle. Pours a deep shade of amber, almost ruby-colored. Decent head that dissipated too quickly, became nothing on the way down. Light nose, just some malts really.

Tastes pretty good. No real hop presence, but the subtle malt flavors are nice. Light coffee, some roast. Definitely a good malt flavor but nothing eye-popping. Not as smooth as it could be, but refreshing and a nice change-up from the light lagers. Nothing too impressive here, but a solid brew for sure.

0.5 l. bottle bought in Germany.
This beer is not as surprizingly pleasant as i've gotten used to from the beers i buy in Germany: it was ok, but it didn't rize much above the macro lagers I've had before.
Nice dark red brown colour. Thin , disappointing head, but good carbonation.
Smell is syrup, some dark fruits. Roasted malts and yeastyness.
Taste is of bittersweet from sugar and grassy hops.
Light mouthfeel, refreshing carbonation.
Very ordinary and typical lager, a dark one, no real complexity, no real depth.

Pours a very deep ruby red. Fizzy, off-white head and no lacings whatsoever.

Prunes and other dark fruit on the nose with a surprising cherry-like sweetness. Promises to be a malt bomb.

Crisp carbonation gives it a bit of an edge at first, a little more tart and sweet than one would expect from the style. Nonetheless, that dark, characterful malt I was hoping for is certainly there.

No issues with the mouthfeel. Bottle looked a little run down, but carbonation and body was right on. Pick up a bottle if you see it and enjoy the style.

500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. Poured into a lager glass.
Colour is light brown and transparent, looks like a watered down cola. Two fingers of off-white, soapy head but with not so good retention. No lacing left on the glass.
Light aroma of roasted malts. Not bad but nothing exceptional either.
Taste is better, again of course roasted malts, but this timetraces of chocolate flavours too.
Thin body, average carbonation. Quite dry on the palate, with a long finish.
Overall, yes, this was a nice tasty beer with high drinkability.

This is my second bottle, pouring a deep brown (with some reddish hues), nice fluffy head fading to half finger deep skin.Moderate lacing on the glass. Light but active carbonation throughout. Strong, mellow flavor, not over powering, just a hint of bitterness on the back of the tongue after swallowing. A nice beer for a winter's day, accompanied with some good german sausage and cheese.

This Bier has been contract brewed up untill recently. The Kloster has decided to start brewing on premise and has hired a young brewer from Bayern. I believe he is a Weihenstephan grad. This Bier was to the best of my knowledge brewed by Tuecher Braeu.

It pours up a deep cherry brown elixir that is topped by a creamy eggshell white head. The aroma is of bright Munich Malz and features hints of sulphur and hops. The flavor slightly fruity of dark cherries. The mouth feel is medium to light. I picked up a oak flavors asif the Bier had been aged ina cask. The Bier is a little thing for me but good...

Zum Wohl!
