Poured from a bomber (24 ounce bottle) into a standard pint glass, the head rises roughly under an inch tall, ashy tan in color. The retention is fine and leaves jagged swaths of lace on the walls of the glass. Hazy amber body. Smell: Black tea leaves, freshly mowed lawn, hints of peach flesh, and pine sap. Finishes on a solid note of grapefruit juice, and some of the rind, too. Taste: Begins with a sharp uppercut of hop bitterness that ascends toward the top of my palate, slightly increases in strength, and showers down with a noticeable backbone of biscuity yeast and subtle malt sweetness. The aftertaste lands smack on the center of my palate, a vibrating pinch of hop power, as the malt sweetness fades like a melodious ice cream truck off into the sunset. Mouthfeel: Dense, palate-encompassing, not as carbonated as I would like but nothing to bitch about. A solid west coast IPA.

Paid 2.19 for the bottle. Into a pint glass.

A - Pretty decent is is rather hazy/dirty amber brown with a 1/4 inch of head that pulls back to a pretty sweet lace ring.
S - Somewhat muted but herbal hop bitterness. Touch of sugary malt. Some bready malts. Really not much.
T - Huh its not it the hop bitterness its mostly malt like an old ale but easy going. Not really good or bad.
M - Light to medium easy to drink.

Overall I guess it could use more hop bitterness since it comes off as a lower ABV barleywine but a very drinkable one. Could be old but who the heck knows with no bottle date!

Bottle > Sensory Pils
A - Pours a cloudy gold, nice two finger soapy head, nice lacing.
S - Smell is bad, I realize this is old, but this is a base aroma that I'm getting lots of weird smelling yeast, licorice, a tad bit of floral hops, burnt caramel.
T - Diacetyl is definitely present, some mild hop bite, biscuit malt.
M - Thin and unpleasant mouthfeel.
O - I know this is old, but whats the advantage of making your beer organic if it tastes bad? I cant see this being good even if it was fresh. I'm going to take a stab and say that diacetyl was in here before it "aged". I cant remember I have some more Bison beer stashed away in my collection to try, but I know to avoid this brand from now on.

Poured onto a snifter. Nice 1/2" head on top of an amber colored liquid. Nice lacing, lookin' good.

Smells like grapefruit mixed with ammonia, nuthin' special here.

Taste is pretty darn decent, tho it finishes somewhat sour.

So this beer has been retired? I just got it a couple days ago, but there is no date on the bottle that I can find. The bottle I've got is identical to the photo above. Oh well, can't say I'll miss it, but don't regret trying it. Actually, not too bad at all.

Very average IPA. Pours a nice color, slightly cloudy, but has little to no head. Hops and citrus on the nose as you would expect but fairly mild. Some bread and almonds as well. Farily balanced, with some hops upfront with the taste, leaves some bitterness behind. Felt too soapy for me. Not a bad beer and very drinkable, but hard to recommend with so many other widely available winners.
