Poured from a 22-ounce bomber into an Adirondack brewpub pint glass. Thanks Onenote81!
A: Deep, caramel-colored, orange amber with a thick, frothy head of tan foam which formed a nice ring and left some good, webby lacing.
S: Fruity ale malt aroma with a very present citrus and herbal hop scent. Dried tobacco and lush fruits make up the nose.
T: Very nice, creamy malt flavor with doses of caramel and a hint of molasses. Fruity and bitter malt profile combines with a sweet, citrusy bitterness that finishes full-flavored, sweet and creamy. Hop bitterness lingers on well into the aftertaste, but not the palate-killer I was expecting.
M: Full-bodied, creamy and clean ale with a good, spocy and bitter hop finish.
D: Very flavorful and balanced, yet complex, strong red ale. I really wish I had another. The 6.8% ABV doesn't really go noticed amongst the strong, fruity ale character and hop profile. Interesting and enjoyable from beginning to finish.
