A - An orangish amber color... Thin pure white head quickly fades leaving a full, lush, and delicate lacing... Slight amount of medium paced carbonation... Minor stickiness on the sides of the glass...
S - A wonderful combination of sweet citrus hops and layers of malty goodness... Caramel... Burnt sugars... Dough...
T - Uber hoppy for a standard Pale Ale... Sweet citurs... Candied sugars... Honey... Flour... Slight caramel undertones...
M - Luscious... Medium to full bodied... Slight carbonation bite on the back of the tongue... Syrupy and chewy, especially by Pale Ale standards... Consistent and even flavor... Smooth and delectable...
D - A very interesting and unique Pale Ale... Seems to be British in nature... It's good looking and then surprises and contradicts at the same time... There's a malty nose, a very hoppy taste, and a one of a kind mouthfeel for the style... All add up for a charming and much appreciated interpretation of the style...

As a fan of a number of Bear Republic's other offerings, I was looking forward to trying this one. I'm not typically a fan of Apas but always down to try something different. This ale pours a hazy golden amber color with a nice white head and substantial lacing. The aroma is Light and malty with a slight hop presence. Nothing remarkable but definitely reminiscent of the style. The mouthfeel is light and easy to drink; definitely one that you could knock back a number of on a hot summer's day. The flavor is well balanced with a nice malt presence that is not overly sweet or cloying and a floral hop presence that is not overly bitter or biting. Overall it is easy to drink, enjoyable, and well balanced. Nothing that will make you stand up and say wow but a nice example of the style.
