Had this in December 2017 when disc golfing with Cole, leftpaw and Layne at Rancho San Rafael.
Pours a light amber copper like color, 1/3" off white head. Aroma seemed like all bittering hops. Usual pine and rind combo.
Taste is much the same, run of the mill C hops, maybe Simcoe pushing a moderately bitter session ipa that lacks the hop flavors that better session ipas (firestone, drakes etc.) crank out. Has a woody malt presence as well different than the pine needle like ones. I guess a little bit of a maltier session ale than most. Maybe a tad bit excessive carbonation on it, my bottle had that head trapping in the neck of it for awhile.
While Bear Republic has some legit hall of fame/classic bangers, this isn't one of them. And I tend to get down with session ipas more than the average guy, with all the heat, softball and skiing usually going on here, I drink a lot of them. This was a single bottle purchase and I don't see me going back.

Golden colored with a dense white head. Nose is rather plain. Taste is a bit hoppy, but just a bit. Not much followthrough or backend flavors. Hoped for more hoppy florals.

If you're seeking a 4% session IPA, this one keeps pace. overall a 4.
A) Pours a completely hazy dark golden honey body that sprouts a rocky 3 finger head and washes the snifter in lace. Best looking session. Dark.
S) Big aroma of pine and citrus astride a chewy, darker malt base.
T) Surprisingly abundant flavors that follow that pine course in the aroma. Cedar, woody, outdoors, more pine, spruce, woods, fall earth not far from a sawmill. Mineral and malt underneath. The woods in winter.
F) Too thin for what's come before, but adequate for a session beer. Plus a nice long bittering finish. mineral. O) One of the better session IPAs ever. No surprise from this hop expert brewer. 4.0% ABV. Try 24.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a very dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, little else. Taste is mild, some citrus, a touch of pine, no real bitterness to speak of. Feels light bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

12oz bottle. Poured out a cloudy, orange amber color with lots of yeast chunks and a tan head of foam. It smelled of pine, citrus and toasted caramel. Nice piney bite with orange peel and sweet caramel.

L: pours slightly hazy straw gold filled with streams of rapidly rising bubbles blanketed by a 1" cream colored collar of foam with good retention
S: smell of pine, resin, some perfume and a touch of fresh wood.
T: Fruit, pine, biscuit and breadcrumb dominate the flavors finishing with a pleasant and lingering bitter accent
F: creamy with a medium body and carbonation
O: With its moderate alcohol this full flavored and very drinkable beer is sessionable

12 oz bottle, w/o any freshness indication on the bottle that I could find
Pour medium hazed orangy amber, under a delicate light khaki head, that leaves fine low sheeting and ample fine lace on the glass.
Resiny hop nose with citrus
Zesty citric sessioner, I get biting lemon/lime. grapefruit and more pine/resin hops on the palate. Fresh and flavorful, worthy 4% IPA

12oz bottle, best by 12/05/17
A - creamy off-white head holds good retention atop a hazy golden colored ale
S - citrus and pine as the label suggests
T - zesty and piney hops are bold and bitter, biscuity malt adds modest sweetness
M - lighter body, higher carbonation, big bitterness lingers on the palate
O - pretty good flavors, but nothing I'd get again.
