Procured in a trade with the awesome Wuntrikpony. Poured from a bomber into my trusty glass beer mug. Kept the sediment separate and pured that into a smaller glass.

A - Pours a sparkling and clear bright orange with very little head and sticky strands of lacing. Looks delicious.

S - Hops jump out forward with just enough malt sweetness pushing through to give some balance. Piney, floral, grapefruity, and orangey. It's a beautifully bright and sweet hop aroma.

T - Bitterness is intermediate, but is easily shoved aside by the juicy, fruity character of the hops. With a best by date of 05/04/14, this is easily in this beer's flavor wheelhouse, and it shows. There's no Holy cow, this is tasty.

M - Just right for a DIPA; not weighty at all, mild carbonation...yep, just right. Alcohol is not noticeable, so be careful with this 9% ABV beast.

Overall - This is easily up there as one of the best DIPA's I've had. The IBU's are well countered by the floral and fruity hop flavors bursting out of this one. Finding PTE and Heady in my area is out of the question, but I've seen Bear Republic in my local stores, so if I can secure a constant supply, this could become my everyday IPA of choice.

bomber into tulip. best by 06/09/14.

A: a bright orange/golden hue. frothy white head. good retention. fantastic lacing.

S: really bright and citrus filled. very inviting. smells like the hop bomb while pouring out of the bottle. very American.

T: a lot of citrus. a lot. then it moves to a round orange flavor. a little bit of grainy soft flavor. a little bit of booze. really quite minimal though. bitterness lingers into the finish, but similar to the booze level, rather minimal.

M: ample carb on a medium/full bodied brew.

D: pretty tasty stuff. very drinkable. could do this one everyday with ease.

Best by 5/29/14. Another line reads "166 G 1429 2013" (sic? supposed to be 1229?) Probably approaching four months old at this point. Not good, only bought recently at the biggest and most popular store in my area, arguably the biggest in New England.

Poured from the 22 oz. bomber into a Tree House snifter.

a: Nearly clear dark gold wiht a finger thick white head which receded to fairly even surface foam and dense lacing.

s: Intense citrus. Also some floral notes.

t: Bitter orange peel. Different and nice. Bitterness builds on the sides of the tongue. Bitter finish. Some throat burn also builds from the high c.9% ABV, but is otherwise well concealed.

m: Medium to full, very good body.

o: Excellent DIPA, tastes like I am chewing an orange peel, but refreshing too. First DIPA I can recall tasting this orangy. Me likey.
