This is a fairly tasty beer but not really fitting a Baltic Porter in strength or character.
Deep, dark red-brown, it has a small off-white head soon shrinking to a foamy ring and wisps, leaving a little good lace.
The aroma is very subdued and very simple, mostly lightly malty with stewed plums.
The taste is better and more interesting, mostly malty but with a definite light hop presence. It is fruity-toasty with some stewed plums and grapes and hints of milk chocolate, anise, pepper, and a faint grapefruitiness in the finish, plus a definite rosey-floweriness primarily reminiscent of rose Turkish Delight. It mostly lightly sweet but a light bitterness builds toward the finish and lingers afterwards. It's fairly smooth and has a nice, frothy feel.
The taste somewhat reminded me of Third Street Aleworks' Stepchild Red Ale but not as good.
It's good, just not really a Baltic Porter and not great.

On tap at the BR brewpub. This beer is described as their version of a Baltic porter. Poured into a pint glass and comes in at 5.9%.
A-Pours a very dark red with a one finger tan head. Lots of lace is left.
S-Biscuity malt is the predominant smell when it first arrives. As it warms, I pick up on some red cherry.
T-Has a very mellow taste. Sweet malt hits after taking a sip followed by the red cherry and other stone fruits. There really is no roasted malt flavor in here. Reminds me more of a Scotch Ale than a Baltic porter. Really no bitterness to speak of in this one.
M-Medium bodied, smooth, and low carbonation.
D-Quite an easy drinking beer. Low in abv.
As mentioned above, I felt this was a lot closer to a Scotch ale than a Baltic Porter based on appearance and flavor. I still found this to be a pretty good beer though.
