Café Racer 15™ features aromas of bright citrus and resinous pine from the generous use of Citra, Amarillo, Cascade and Chinook hops which are complimented by a dry malt finish. The result is a high revving Double IPA that is loud and assertive, much like the rebellious street racers who inspired it. Never ride alone...

The beer comes in a hazy orange golden color.

This has a brilliant aroma of sweet sweet citrus of tangerine and orange, caramel malt, along with some tropical fruit notes and pine. It's a very hoppy beer.

The flavor has flowing orange and citrus note that is extremely hoppy. It then smooths out with caramel malt, but it's a really light breadiness that just carries it through gently. It's very hoppy and oily with a strong bitterness of grapefruit and pine on the finish.

A really exceptional DIPA.

Poured from a 22 oz to a snifter glass * bottle date 8/4/13

A- pours a semi - hazy off orange with a light 1/2 finger head that sticks and slimes all over the place

S- slight orange, sharp grapefruits, citrus all around but drenched in brown sugar, a molasses type smell

T- Tons of malt, alcohol, tons of sugar, some citrus in the middle, some more alcohol, crushed asprin on the finish

M- Sticky. syrupy, sweet as can be

O- Not what i expected bottle was only 2 months old, too much malt, too sweet alcohol all over the place, bear republic usually nails it esp witih ipa's, not with this one. Despite all its flaws it still tastes decent, would want to try it fresh, but 2 months shoudlnt degrade the beer to a maltbomb.

Bottle dated August 5, 2013 poured October 21, 2013. These guys need to get the distribution down here to FL quicker. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small white head. Big floral grapefruit aroma with strong caramel malts in the background. Flavor follows with very floral citrus on the palate backed by sweet candy like malts. The aromatic flavor (is that a thing) keeps this from being overly sweet. BIG slick mouthfeel on this with medium prickly carbonation. Would like to see how this is fresh as this was definitely past the hop prime. Still drank nicely.

Serving Type - 22oz bottle

Appearance - Golden yellow, light tan with a nice 1 inch creamy head. Nice amount of lacing.

Smell - Sweet citric hops, orange, pineapple, grapefruit. Lemon and pine are also a nice strong aroma. Malts make a minor appearance in the finish. Hop heavy for sure.

Taste - Very sweet, citric hop bomb at first sip. Lots of orange, pineapple, grapefruit, kiwi, grapes, passion fruits and such mixed with sweet yeasts. Very smooth, yet has a nice bite or bitterness at the finish. Malts are really masked, and only provide some caramel and toffee notes at the finish.

Mouthfeel - Tongue gets loads of hops, and sweet yeasts, were palate gets the hops and a little malt sweetness. The finish is well, as you guessed, hoppy and sweet.

Overall - Nice sweet, hoppy and smooth beer. West coast to the full effect, citric, with underlying alcohol mixed in, yet soooo smooth. A winner from a classic craft brewery.

This is probably my second favorite beer I've ever tasted, Pliny The Younger being the first. I got it on tap in a sniffer. It was well balanced with great hops flavor and a sweet citrus flavor. My mouth exploded with joy as I first tasted this gem. I like Racer 5 but this just blew me away.
