Tried this on tap at the brewpub in Healdsburg CA. This review is from notes.
Pours a deep mahogany color with burgundy hints. The dish soap off-white head is small, but coats the glass with lace trails. Cherries and acetic sourness mixes with some soft malt notes in the nose. A malty sweetness mixes with lactic sourness in the taste, with some cherry notes and vinegar in the back. Some restrained farmy funk shows with warmth. The mouthfeel is light with an active, prickly carbonation. the finish is tart but off dry. Alcohol warmth is noticeable throughout but not distracting.
A little one dimensional and lacking in funk and sour complexity, still an interesting Wild Ale. I'm sure it will benefit from some age.

Imbibed on tap at Bear Republic Tap House 9/29/12.
Thin khaki head atop a deep red, almost brown beer. Nearly looks like a red wine. Sour cherry and red currant hit the nose first. Some raspberry and strawberry, very bright, sweet fruit. Malt starts out tasting like a brown. Nutty and grainy. This fades quickly to a very acidic tartness that hits the back of the throat. It's pungent with a touch of green apple skin. That must be the prickly pear. The tartness mixes with some fruity hops (apple, apricot). Some bitterness, but it's more of a secondary sensation to the puckered vinegar flavor. Feel is acidic, with a semi dry finish.
As much as I am in love with the aroma, I feel the taste is held back by the pungent prickly pear. It kind of falls flat. It's like a Supplication with a mixed flavor palate. Feel it could clean up its flavor and really benefit.

On tap at the brewery.
Body is a deep garnet color. Dark and murky.Presented with no head.
Sour, vinegary aromas. Woody, oak tones. Cherries and pears. Pepper. Some phenols.
Oaky. Acetic flavors of vinegar, lightly puckering. Light, white pepper spice. Prickly pear sweetness, with some cherries. More funky than sour, with some phenolic flavors. Some white wine tones, with just a hint of floral essence.
A nice offering from Bear Republic. Good amount of tartness, but tends towards the funky side, making it more accessible. Hides the alcohol very well, and has a good amount of depth.
