Big thanks to eyebereej for this one! Reviewed from notes. Poured from the half-gallon growler into a CCB snifter.
A: Dark red but nearly clear. A thin off-white head atop low visible carbonation (could be the growler serving type?).
S: Tart, funk, dark cherry fruitiness, oak barrel tannins.
T: Follows the nose, a nice cherry cordial impression overall, with a very dry finish from the wood tannins.
M: Medium body, moderate alcohol presence, and more carbonation sensation than the appearance would imply.
O: Quite enjoyable. It doesn't rank among the best sours or wild ales, but if I were to find myself at the Bear Republic tasting room, I wouldn't hesitate to order a glass.
Serving type: growler

Experienced at the Tap Room. Brett? big wine barrel, tart tart, cherry. Lots of malt to take down the acidity. The tannic wine dominates. Very dark brown to black, some head and lace. This is tannic, lactic, some astringency. A sipper at best in drinkability. A lot of ideas here. Medium bodied. A hint of chocolate malt and vanilla. Brewers’ notes: proprietary Scottish Ale Yeast, along with Somoma County wild bacteria. Nugget and Liberty hops; IBU below 25. A blend of several dark ales.
Serving type: on-tap
