Pours with a nice tan head. Smell is chocolate, cherry, a good deal of alcohol heat that's worse as it warms. Good chocolate but needs more roasted malt presence and bitterness (granted, this is older and hops have faded I'm sure) to balance. Decently creamy feel but the strong alcohol presence keeps this down.

A: Pours thick and black. Forms a moderate sized deep tan-colored head. Excellent retention and lots of lacing for a beer of this strength.
S: Aroma is pleasant. Deeply roasted malts, dark chocolate, molasses. Bourbon notes are present, but they're more of an supporting player than the main feature.
T: Taste falls off a bit. First of all, the taste is not at all balanced. It is hot and boozy with plenty of fusel spice. Notes of chocolate and roasted malts. Vanilla. But the booziness dominates.
M: As mentioned above, this is a boozy beer. Full bodied and smooth on the one side. Boozy and prickly hot on the other. Mild bitterness.
O: A decent beer that might benefit from some aging in the hopes that the aggressive heat with mellow with age. Never-the-less, a decent brew.
