An amazing coffee stout. It doesn't get any better than this. I've been a huge fan of breakfast stout until I had this. Tons of coffee on the nose, right up front and in your face. Alcohol presence is quite noticeable, but not overwhelming. I'm not gonna drag this review on like alot of people do on these boards. The beer at Flossmoor is amazing, Matt and Andrew do a great job.

Imperial Mocha Java Stout is one fine piece of work. This is one that the brewer should be damn proud of.
This one arrived in a snifter. The medium-heavy body is deep dark brown in color with a rusty brown head and heavy sticky lacing.
The smell is dominated by a bold dark roasted character. Dark roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, and a bit of grassiness.
The taste follows the scent well with a bold coffee roastiness and bittering. The chocolate came across more as unsweetened cocoa. Light hopping and the coffee bittering keep things well in balance. Not too sweet or bitter with a hint of dryness in the finish and a mild bite of spicy alcohol, just to remind you that it is there.
A light carbonation gives this a silky smooth creamy mouthfeel.
Considering the how well the 9.3% ABV is hidden this is exceptionaly drinkable.

I consider myself to be lucky to have been able to get a sample of Imperial Mocha Java Stout before the last keg blew.
If you hear that it is available again, you can expect see me at Flossmoor Station waiting in line. It's that damn good!

So I feel like a cheat giving this all fives, so I knocked drinkability to 4.5 (it IS 9.3% ABV), but I seriously can't find a flaw in this beer.

A: Jet black with a very slight brown head.

S: Dark roast coffee predominates the aroma, with a little lingering sweetness and just a hint of a straw-like hop aroma.

T: The coffee hits you hard up front. The beer was aged over crushed espresso beans, so this is no surprise. But it finishes with a smooth, sweet malt-meets-dark chocolate flavor that's incredible. The bitterness of the cocoa and coffee perfectly balances the imperial malt sweetness.

M: Nice smooth carbonation, unlike a lot of flat imperials. The carbonation seems to be just enough to keep the beer from feeling heavy, but not so much that it tastes fizzy.

D: For a 9%+ beer, this is remarkably drinkable. Granted, it's no chugging beer, but a snifter for dessert goes down easy. If a cup of coffee is drinkable, so is this.

Matt and Andrew over at Flossmoor Station seem to keep raising the bar, and this one's gonna be hard for them to top. God bless 'em if they can do even better, and I'll be the first at the bar when they do!
