Tried this on tap at the bottle release today. Ended up just missing out on the bottles, and some really nice guy in the parking lot sold me one of his. So I will be able to try it again! Thanks to that guy for hooking me up!
A: Chocolately dark brown pour with a small tan head that dissipates quickly to just some small bubbles.
S: Strong bourbon smell. Almost to the point of overwhelming the other scents. You do get some vanilla and spice smells as well.
T: Just like the smell, there is a lot of bourbon in the taste. This is followed by some oak from the barrel along with vanilla. Towards the end, the rye makes an appearance with some spiciness. Pretty complex.
M: Perfectly carbonated for the style. The body is medium to full. Pretty smooth.
O: A complex beer that shines as an example of barrel aging. The barrel flavors are clearly present but do not overwhelm the rest of the flavors. Definitely the best Rye wine I have tried.

S - Caramel, brown sugar and oak dominate a malty nose
T - Caramel, brown sugar, and dates are up front. There is a slight hop bitterness still remaining despite the beer's age. There is also some slight dark chocolate and oak spice near the end
M. - Sweet and thick beer that has some spice from the oak near the finish
O - Flossmoor makes great BA barley wines and this one continues that tradition.
