Taken from notes at the opening party for Chicago Craft beer week that have been lost until now.
Poured with a solid amount of thick tan head that holds tight leaving great lacing. Great looking beer.
Lots of raspberry in the smell, felt it made the aroma over powering with sweetness. Very little of the barrel or bourbon. Felt that it was a little one dimensional.
The taste was much more complex than the smell. Very malty, great hints of bourbon and of course the raspberry sweetness. Very very tasty.
Light carbonation with only a slight burn it was a great drinker. Surprised with the dry finish, especially with the sweetness so prevelant.
I enjoyed it quite a bit and went back for a little more, which says something I guess with the amount of different beer available that night. Would look forward to trying to try it again in the future.

On-tap at pre-DLD festivities

A - It pours a brown-black hue and is capped with a short-lived filmy head.

S - The nose offers macerated raspberry from the get-go, and then notes of chocolate, booze, oak, toffee and vanilla begin to comingle. This is delectable, and decadent.

T - The flavor delivers on the promise of the nose; this is a rich and delectable brew. Raspberries are not as prominent in the flavor as they are aromatically, instead allowing some of the roasty and toffee-caramel notes to shine. While booze is noted, it is in the form of flavor, not heat. Very nice.

M - A bit silkier than the other incarnations of 666; the feel is workin' here.

O - I like. A lot.

On-tap at the Dark Lord Eve party at the brewpub. Served in a plastic cup.

A: Dark brown body with a velvety finger of light brown head. Fantastic retention and lacing. Perfectly beautiful.

S: Huge bourbon, vanilla, raspberry. It's exactly what I expected, and that's cool.

T: Sweet, complex, and decadent. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, toffee, and raspberries all assert influence, in that order. Dry, slightly tannic finish. The raspberry adds something, but doesn't seem obtrusive. Great stuff.

M: Soft, explosive carbonation. Hart to tell much about the heft of the beer. A little much.

O: Terrific improvement over the non-fruited version of this beer - the raspberries add some serious complexity, and also help to distract attention from the booziness that plagued BA 666. I'm always skeptical about putting fruit into dark beers, but in this case they did nothing but good.

Cheers!

A- Pours a darker reddish brown color with a head that consisted of a few bubbles. A bit of lacing here in there.

S- Sweetness from the raspberries is the first thing I notice and its got me a little worried. Picking up some other darker fruits, woody and chocolate.

T- Sweet raspberries, but its not an over the top fruitiness. A great balance between the fruits, chocolate and wood. Has a really great taste.

M- Medium in body and lower end of carbonation.

O- Very nice and surprising. I probably would not of ordered this one up if it wasn't for Mbpbugeye telling me that this is for real.

Had on tap at the brewery's pre-DLD event.

A: Pours almost black with reddish hues.

S: Big raspberry puree, oak and some roasted malt.

T: Lots of raspberry upfront followed by oakiness then some roasted malt. A hint of vanilla in the finish.

M; Slightly thin body to me. I wish it was thicker.

O: Would like to see a little less raspberry but overall a very nice sipper.

Had this at the pre-Dark Lord Day event at Flossmoor Station.

Served in a plastic cup, as we were outside on the patio.
Appearance
Its a deep brown. I can tell this isn't black, it had hints of purples and reds. The head was loose and wispy. It might have left some spotty lacing had it been in a proper glass.

Aroma
Raspberries are right up front, and smell very nice. They are sweet and decadent. They mingle very nicely with vanilla, oak and chocolate. Some caramel isn't a stretch.

Taste
Again, the raspberries add a nice sweetness to this beer. Unlike many beers with berries this one is clearly raspberry. There is lots of vanilla and chocolate as well. The finish is oaky with a long lasting raspberries and cream aftertaste. Very nice.

Mouthfeel
I'd like to see this get a push towards thick. Its not thin, but does lack a little bit of viscosity that would be really nice with a sweet treat like this.

Overall
I would drink this again in a heartbeat. It was my favorite from Flossmoor.
