Had on tap at Flossmoor the other week. Glad to see another stab at a sour with them.
A- Pours a golden yellow color with maybe a little hint of haze. One finger white head shows medium retention. Nice streaks of lace all down the glass with each sip.
S- Some nice vinegar like notes in the front of the aroma mixes with a light pear and pineapple note. This beer smells nice. Hints of biscuity malt dominate the backend with some light ginger like notes. A little dirty smelling on the backend but I don't mind it.
T- Nice vinegar like sourness in the front of the beer start right off the bat. A little puckering. Hints of stale tropical fruit are placed in the middle of the beer with the vinegar like sourness dominating that section. Ending of the beer shows a strong biscuity flavor with a stronger underlying ginger note to it. A little off setting in the backend but the alcohol and sourness help fight back what could have been a bad ending for this beer.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was good for the style. Vinegar and gingery biscuit are left on the palate. Aftertaste is those elements plus alcohol that comes through a little on the dull side. Flavors were a little off balance with much of a stop and jerk flavor motion. No real off flavors were present in the beer while drinking. Heavy drying on the palate from the alcohol.
O- This was a soild average beer in the style. Nothing special about it to make it stand out but then again nothing bad to also make it standout. Kind of lackluster at times but I ending up going back and having another couple of pours of it the next day. So close Flossmoor but yet so far away!

On-tap pre-DLD. This beer is almost lager-ish in appearance, gold and fizzy, and is capped with a filmy white head. The brew offers grassy notes, and distinct white grape, pear and pineapple suggestions. There is also a slight ginger note. It is crisp, sparkling and dry, although the flavors tend to be of the sweet and tropical fruity type. The body is light and effervescent, and is fairly refreshing. Its not terribly complex, but I do like what it has going for it.

T: Big sourness upfront with tart citrus and apple. Just a hint of cat pee(thanks Eric). Dry finish. I don't much from the barrel.
