On-tap at the pre-DLD Flossmoor Event.

A - Pours a burnt orange color, cream-colored head, spotty lace.

S - Burnt sugars, toffee, caramel, light dark fruity sweetness.

T - Pretty sweet...caramel, toffee, burnt sugars, dark fruit, light oak. Not much barrel character here compared to how it came though on the Imperial Schwartz. Finish is sweet carmel and dark fruit.

M - Medium body, good carbonation, creamy finish.

O - Not as good as the Imperial Schwartz, but not all that bad. I'd have again and I'm curious to see how this is out of the bottle.

A: cloudy light brown with orange highlights and a thick head with tons of carbonation.

S: apple, some bourbon, fruity smells

T: excellent mix of the fruity beer flavors with scotch flavor. Bitter and sweet with fruit and alcohol too.

M: a bit overcarbonated with a medium body, but still solid for the category

O: interesting beer, but it seems off a bit. Quite cider like with the heavy caronation and big apple flavor. Not my favorite style, but a great example and a unique take to me at least.

On tap at the brewpub on release day!

Amber pour, medium head. Sweet, malty, scotchy aroma is this beer's best quality. Taste is initially subtle and scotchy, tons of malt and caramel. Becomes significantly more boozy as it warms, which is unpleasant to me. Should be a great beer with some age.

Pours an amber color without much of a head. Nose is bourbon with some sweet malts. Sweet malts up front, move on to some grainy malts. The vanilla bourbon comes through on the back with a nice slickness. Ends with lingering sweetness. Mouth is medium without much carbonation. Overall, this is a decent barrel aged scotch ale.
