Stopped in here after my visit to Three Floyds. It was a quality day for beer this time a week ago to be sure. Walked into this place at around 9:30 on a Saturday night and the place was basically deserted from some reason. Maybe only the bar was open, but it was strange to see a place this big with so few people in it, it was nice to get a great seat at the bar at least. A nice change of pace from the cramped but comfortable enough space at Three Floyds.

The selection here is uhmazing. Not only do they have the full line up of year rounds (which to be honest, I should expect to get anyways as they are year round offerings) but they are outnumbered almost two to one by brewery only beers. Had a rye IPA which hit the spot there was a red ale, a milk stout, and four or five others I cannot remember right about now, suffice to say there was a lot to choose from and the IPA and the milk stout I had were both great. Also was able to have a nice conversation with a few of the other guests and talked beer for a long long long time. So people (at least the people I talked to) are friendly here, which really makes for a comfortable experience in an unfamiliar place. Would love to go back here again, pick up a growler and try the food, get an even better feel for the place. But this place made a pretty darn good first impression. If you live in Chicago, hop on the Metra and make your way down here, all others (especially from the Northern suburbs) this place is a bit of a schlep to get to.

Pros: Fun pub/brewery environment, you can see the fermenters; the metra is right there.
Good food and good beer.

Cons: Good food and good beer, but not great
