Man oh Man! The only thing better than discovering a beer, is RE-discovering a beer!
Way back when I couldn't taste past the label of any beer, I put this one off as "bitter" most likely because A) I liked chewing on dark beers and getting hammered, and B) It's called BIT-burger.
I even quaffed some of this on tap while back (at a watering hole which is literally within stumbling distance of my house) and had the same juvenile reaction to it.
Then, after discovering beautiful creatures such as Czech pilsener and Muenchener Helles, I thought, "Hey, why not give those "bit"-boys another chance?
Baaa-baaay! This is simply a Pils-Dort-Hell rolled into one beer. I drank the first one so fast, I couldn't review it!
Guess where I'll be headed one of these balmy summer evenings?
IMPORTANT FACTS: Despite what other reviews say, I am looking directly at three dead, brown bottles right now. No green glass for me, dudes! Also, considering these bottles were at the bottom of the fridge and dusty, there is a chance that the "bit" in the bitburger disappeared over several months storage.

Pale straw colour. More pale than most lagers. Very large amount of bubbles streaming up the tall pilsner glass. An ok head and good lacing left sticking to the sides to the end of the drink.
Lovely herbal hop aroma. Sweet and leafy smelling.
The taste, as with the aroma, is of herbal hops with and is very delicate and pleasant. The finish is very dry with a lingering bitterness at the end of the sip.
There is a great mineral water mouthfeel with light carbonation.
Overall this is a superb German pilsener. Ticks all the boxes for the style and is characterful enough to be considered interesting as well as thirst quenching.
My mark out of one hundred would 87.
