This was the first legal beer I ever drank. I had it in Germany when I was 17. I didn't really like it then, but thought I'd give it another try at the local German resturaunt. Given the long standing tradition of many of these beers, I must have been the one whose taste had changed.
The beer is a light golden color, which would be fine if not for comparison of domestic "pilsner" hues. It has a stronger bitterness than american pilsners, but its still subdued compared to many German and Czech pilsners. The body of the beer is very light, and its not a filling beer. However, once the food arived, the beer played well as sausage washer-downer. Though I really like pilsners, this is not one I'd make a habit out of buying.

Appearance: Light straw. Good carbonation. Decent head that goes away rather quickly.
Smell: Light malt, light hops, and just the slightest hint of skunkiness.
Taste: Malt with a nice touch of bitterness from the hops on the finish. There is a flavor there that I can't quite place, but I find it rather appealing. Nothing off-putting.
Mouthfeel: Clean. Crisp. On the light side of medium bodied.
Overall: An enjoyable beer that is perfect for warmer temperatures. One that I would definitely buy again.
