Clear golden, large white head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is grassy and bread. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Medium body.

Ok, a little bitter taste, probably better tasting if drinking with German Bratwursts.

First time diving into German beer with this one. I know that German beer has to abide by the purity standards set in 1516, so the flavors made by the three main ingredients water, barley, and hops can only take this one so far. However this beer being the macro standard in Germany is much better than the major beer companies here. The best way I can put it, is that this beer tastes like a better coors light. It just tastes like a better common light beer. Which isn't a bad thing, but it is nothing I would go out of my way to try again.

Could use more body. I appreciate the after-taste. Flavor is more present when not too chilled

500ml can into nonic pint. "05.03.2015". consumed on june 1, 2015

a: pale yellow, transparent, 2 fingers of white head

s: big crackery pils malts + pungent grassy hop presence. quite a strong aroma

t: good balance of sweet, bready, cracker-like pils malts and a grassy, bitter, and slightly floral european hop character

m: a bit watery, and also lacking in carbonation. nice dry finish

o: a delicious german pils that could benefit from more body and carbonation

This is a "resistive" German Pilsener, with comercial scheme.
Like most industrial "large scale" beers, it is passable and too soft.

I think I've come to the conclusion that the reason that most European beers are served at warmer temperatures is because most European beers taste better as they get warmer. This is definitely one of those beers. If you want the really bitter taste, drink this ice cold because it really mellows out and becomes much smoother the closer it gets to room temperature, but that's the way I like it.

Even though I poured this from a 500mL can into a standard pub pint glass, it still had that "green bottle beer" taste about it that makes almost every euro lager taste the same to me. It's billed as "Germany's No. 1 Draft Beer" on the can and accordingly tastes like a German version of Bud Lite.

Quick review. One of the better entries for this style in my opinion. Pours a nice golden with a weak white head. Smells grainy & slightly sweet - tastes similar along with a pleasant crisp dryness to offset the malt. This pils has nice carb & actually a pretty decent body. If we're talking premium lagers this is definitely one of the first that I think of.

This beer is a really good value. Excellent all around, very smooth. Seems very easy to get a hold of now, well worth a try if you have never had it.

Call me a baised but I grew up on this stuff. Being born in Bitburg, when I came of drinking age, this was my go to pils. Pours a nice golden color, clear with a nice white head. Good, clean, chrisp taste, little sweeter than some pils you can get here in Germany.
There are plenty of better Pils in the world, but this is my go to. Just remember the old motto of Bitburger, 'Abends Bit, morgens fit'

Decent, skunky beer that tastes good on a hot day: Dry, balanced and bitter, with some grainy malt. High and refreshing carbonation; light bodied and fairly crisp. Nice golden yellow color with a creamy white surface and sticky lace on the glass. Not the best I've tasted in this style, but it's better than many offerings out there. It tastes like a better and more flavorful version of Budweiser, IMO.

Enjoyed many many of these throughout my travels in western Germany. If you only a sniff of aroma from this pils you may not think much, but it is very drinkable and refreshing. I see many low ratings but I personally have to rate this pils higher. Yes its crisp while being thin but less skunky than others in region. Really have to recommend this to you if you are in western Germany and wetting your whistle while staying in a local castle. Cheers

You don't reach for this beer expecting a ton of flavor, full body, or anything new and ground-breaking. You reach for it when you want a cold, refreshing, and good tasting pilsner.

It's crisp, with a lingering skunky-ness, and alcohol after-taste. It leaves a thin head, with minor lacing. It does however taste clean, the sharpness of the hops shines through, as well as a little malty-ness. For a pilsner, it is very good.

Not sure if an exceptional batch, but I found this beer delightful for the style without the skunking that others have noted.

A: crystal clear; light gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded quickly to a wispy cap; very little lacing;

S: pretty skunky when I first opened the bottle; after 10 minutes or so, that was greatly reduced; not sure I've ever experienced that before; I can now clearly get cracker; still don't get any hops;

T: a little grainy with light malt; light bitterness through the long finish; no crispness and no hops other than the bitterness;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: flavor was disappointing;

It´s a good beer, maybe one of my favorite pilsners. It smells dull but has a lot of flavour, It´s also very cheap here in Mexico.

Brilliant clarity with light straw color and long lasting fluffy white head.

Getting a lot of German nobles hops in the nose, pils malt very noticeable with hints of DMS but is appropriate for the style.

Nice crisp, dry taste with a nice balance of noble hops and pils malt, small hints of DMS

Feel could be slightly more carbonated, still has good crispness to it, pleasant bitter aftertaste

A fine, fresh example of a German pilsner, a beer I would down a sixer of on a hot summer day.
