500ml bottle into nonic.
A: Pours a crystal clear amber color with a fluffy white head. (While nice, the style should be cloudy with little carbonation.)
S: Rich malt with just a hint of noble hops.
T: Wonderfully balanced, the dark malts offer a rich sweetness. There is a mild hop bite at the front that goes to a malty center and a dry finish.
M: Very nice body, but overcarbonated for the style. (Swirling helped that of course.)
D: This is a wonderfully drinkable beer, but it's not a Kellerbier. If I were a marketing man, I'd describe it as a hoppy Munich amber. I'd definitely drink another one of these, but please don't call it a Kellerbier, which should be cloudy (yeasty) and have much less carbonation.

L: Surprisingly clear, reddish caramel colored with a off white head that leaves a few random blobs of lacing.
S: Apple juice, pear, toffee, nutty, yeasty, malty
T: Sweet, apple, nutty up front but finishes bitter and weak with some stinging carb on the tongue
F: Medium to light body with moderate carbonation.
O: It is a pretty decent beer but to me it smells and looks better than it tastes.

This is more like a light watery bock style. A little bland.

I hope I had a bad bottle, but something seems to have been off. Upon opening, the plum aroma was very pleasant. The pour was nice, light head. The appearance was crystal-clear with no sediment in bottle, which immediately conflicted with what I'd read about the beer. The color seemed a little off too, with a grey overtone muting the color. The taste was initially pleasant, sweet and fruity with mild carbonation, but the aftertaste was very unpleasant. I struggle to describe it, but dirty-chemical comes to mind. I couldn't finish it, and poured it down the drain. I wouldn't even let my dogs drink it because I was worried that it might have been a contaminated bottle.
I don't think this bottle was expired since the complete lack of sediment or turbidity tells me that what was filled into this bottle was not representative of their normal product. I wonder if a really old keg was used to fill it or if something went awry in the filling lines. Regardless, it points to questionable quality control and I will not be buying again.
