On tap at the Rhino, into a pint glass.

Copper red with an offwhite head. OK lacing and some mild retention. Nose has some whole wheat bread, a touch of rye, caramel, some yeast notes and a bit of grain. Fairly plain on the whole and doesn't really stand out too much. Taste has more caramel-ly breads, yeast notes, not a ton of rye and only mild hop flavours. Medium body with a modestly drying finish. Not too exciting on any level - a decent drinkable beer, perhaps in the vein of some of the year-round Wellington profile.

On tap at Cloak & Dagger

Copper red colour, about a finger of off white head, good retention and some lace. Smell at first is quite neutral, after taking a sip and letting it warm it let out notes of malt and caramel, toffee, earthy hops with some faint notes of citrus fruit, there is a spicy rye character there as well but more subtle than I anticipated. Taste has spicy rye malt up front, caramel and lightly sweet flavours, fairly bitter throughout, nice balance between malt and hops, some citrus and earthy hop flavours, more spice and rye in the finish. Light-med carbonation, smooth and lightly creamy, medium body, decent feel. Not bad overall, good balance and easily drinkable, however nothing here really stands out to make this anything other than just a good beer.
