After defaulting to Moat Mountain for years, I thought I would give this place a try. Decent sized bar sits in the middle, with country style dining room off behind it. Seems like a fun apres ski hangout. They have 35 taps, most of which are "craft," but there's still plenty of BMC. I had what I considered the best drafts that day: DFH 60 Minute and Allagash Black. Sometimes they have Smuttynose Big Beers on as well. Food is decent but not as good as Moat Mountain. Overall it's worth a shot if you're in the North Conway area, as they seem to be improving their beer selection and it's a lot less crowded than Moat Mountain.

Great for kids, my 5 year old son had a great time. Tavern setting, but family oriented, so Dad can have a beer and the boy can have a grilled cheese and lemonade.

My wife and I decided to stop here on Sat night during a long weekend in NH because of an ad I saw stating this place had 30+ taps. It's attached to the side of a large inn. We walked in to check out the bar, and there is a large dining area, with a bar in the middle and outdoor patio seating. We asked to be seated outside, and we got a nice table for two in at the back of the deck. The beer selection was good, with a bunch of the local breweries from NH, VT, and ME represented. I had a Long Trail brown ale. We ordered the veggie nachos, which were tasty. But there were two issues I had with this place. One was the fact that once the sun went down, our table was inundated with moths and bugs. Hard to enjoy your dining experience when you have moths landing on your face and bugs crawling into your beer glass. The patio seating was nice right around dusk, but don't sit there after sunset. Second was the service. We stopped in for a quick pint and a beer, and were there for over 1:45 total. There was a large party of 10 that had constant attention by a different waitress, another table of two that was served by another waitress, then our table which was ignored. She came by once, then I didn't see her for 30 mins. When we finished and I wanted the check, we waited another 20 mins until I had to go inside to ask for it. Our waitress was either too busy for us, forgot about us, or was just a bad server. We should have just sat at the bar and listened to the dude jamming on the saxophone.

We have been going to Tuckerman's now for 3 years. In the last year they have added so many great beers on tap like Rogue Dead guy, Arrogant Bastard, Dogfish 60 and Peche Lambic, thats just to name a few. The food keeps getting better & better, my favorites happens to be The Friday night Prime Rib, Chicken Parmesan, and the horseradish salad dressing!
They recently have started having Beer Dinners, we have been to the last three, all I can say is amazing! The food at these have been 5 stars! The staff and owners always make you feel welcome.

Went to a Smuttynose brewer's dinner, and stayed across the street at the Lodge. Great location for a winter getaway with all the activities around the area (if Portsmouth to Intervale qualifies as a getaway), and a great selection of brews. The food pairings were great, and their head chef showed off his chops with a great pork bruschetta, and the other pairings were outstanding.

Lance, the owner, sat with my wife and me at the dinner, along with Scott from the brew team @ Moat and Bill from Smutty sales (and another beer rep -- apologies for spacing on your name)! Per Lance, they're going up to 32 taps -- removing Bud Light and Miller Lite drafts... good stuff for the north country.

The only drawback is that they're limited by what they can get in NH, so they don't have then flexibility to do what Novare Res does in Portland, ME. (or Ebenezer's -- a virtual neighbor of Tuckerman's Tavern, or the Lion's Pride in Brunswick)... So while not an 'Exceptional' selection for all markets, it is exceptional for NH.

Stop in and have a pint or two... and if you're from the area, tell Lance what you'd like to see. He is very committed to providing a beer destination for the type of folks who visit BA.

in conway for the day and convinced my wife we should go here for dinner. can't miss the sign - route 16a, less than a mile from the main route. great looking place, the food was spectacular (corn chowder, clam chowder, roast beef sub, asian chicken salad) and our waitress was quite friendly. My wife even thought it would be a great place to stay (The inn part that is) for our next vacation.

The only down side from my point of view was as "Tuckerman's Tavern" I had high hopes for a local market only beer. Sadly, only 2 Tuckerman's brews available and those I could get at home. 25 beers on tap so that's great for the area (or most any NH restaurants), but nothing local market only.

I look forward to coming here on my next trip to conway.
