Pours a crystal clear golden color into my Warka glass, shameful I know, with a nice big white head, good retention and lacing. Surprisingly hoppy aroma.

The flavor is very light and malty, dry and astringent on the finish, and the mouthfeel is typically light. Not much to it really!

Definitely different from its domestic counterpart. I was hoping to be transported back to the Krakow student bars, but I was unsurprisingly disappointed. Still, it's crisp, light, refreshing and very drinkable, I just don't know if I'd pay $2/12oz for this over a cheaper American lager.

Into my Atlas Good-Luck jar.

This is a good beer with a nice straw color and a 3 finger head to dwindles down to nothing. Aroma is clover-honey malty. Taste is sweet then fresh-grainy-brightness that is a rightness. End in a nice deeply bitter finish. I don't think the drinkers on this board give this one justice. Try on on its a good beer. Mouthfeel is pretty nice for this variety. Drinkability is A-one.

Na zdrowie!!!

Got to try a sample of this recently - not bad.
A decent, frothy head that left receeding ring on top of a golden body. Has a leafy, earthy aroma that is a tad pungent. A drying sensation over my tongue from hop bitterness; goes down with a crisp and biting backbite. Not much in the malt department. Seems like anothe Euro-macro trying to make a dent in the states.

It poured a golden/straw/pale yellow hue, more golden towards the core. It had a nice clingy three finger head. Very little activity, an occasional bubble of carbination could be seen.

It had a very sweet smell, like apples at first, then I started to detect some malt undetones.

It had a well balanced taste of malt and hops. It was very smooth and had a nice slightly dry finish with a hoppy bitterness.

It's good, I could drink a couple of these in a sitting and have no complaints.

11.2 oz., 5.6% ABV. Clear pale golden color. A few tiny bubbles streaming from the bottom. White head disappears immediately.

Pale malt aroma, a bit grainy, with a hint of sulphur. A whiff of grassy hops at the back end.

Pretty sweet up front, with a decent amount of malt. Light bready flavor, with some herbal and grassy hops. Sweetness seems to linger, almost artificial. Very little bitterness.

Light body, with a good amount of carbonation. Seems pretty simple, and average.

A: Pours clear, pale yellow. Poured with a two inch vigorous white billowy head; I was surprised how fast it faded though. Laced down the glass, but it was pretty thin.

S: There just wasn't much there; a little corn, wet grain and some citrus.

T: Malt was much more prominent than in the nose. Mild slightly bitter hop. It was a nice balance, just too weak.

M: Medium light body; it was definitely thin. Nice job on the carbonation since it brightened up what little there was toward the slightly bitter finish.

D: Drinkable enough; clean and refreshing. Nothing real special though.

Appearance: light golden in color. Not much head. No lacing.

Aroma: Smelled like a very clean lager. No off smells or "skunk". Light malt aroma, with hints of cold apple cider and grape juice.

Taste: nice burst of German noble hops. Clean and clear lager tastes; grape and pear shine through the even light taste.

Mouthfeel: Easy. Some carbonation bubbles that prick the inside of mouth.

Drinkability: Very drinkable.

Macro-clear and macro-light. White foam jumps up a good couple of inches but frankly retains very poorly and leaves naught but the thinnest of rings around the cap.

Skunked aroma. The herbal twang of the hops is an interesting twist on the traditionally floral, yeast aroma. Wimpy and uninteresting in general.

Well, it's not horrible on a hot-ass Phoenix night. Very thin, mildly sweet, and fairly crisp overall. Lots of skunky DMS flavors, although the bitterness of the Euro hops is nice and prominent, which I find interesting and enjoyable. But not enough to overcome broad shortcomings on all other fronts. Finish is semi-dry, minorly astringent (enough to lower the drinkability index), and not pleasant enough to make me want another.

Thanks goes out to jwc215 for this brew.

Pours nice clean/clear pale yellow color, nice carbonation, little fizzy white head that disappears quickly, very minimal sticky lacing follows. The nose is malty, with some hops, grassy, with some spices. The taste is sweet, very slight hops, grassy/spicy. Light-medium body. Drinkable, not that bad, but would not buy.

Picked up a six pack of this for tonight's Polish dinner of pierogis, borscht and kielbasa. For a Polish product, this stuff is rather good.

Appearance is a pallid light yellow with a quick dissipating head and no lacing whatsoever. There's nothing truly spectacular about the look of this beer.

The smell is like any typical lager: corn, light malts and a fair pinch of some spices. Either way, this is a pretty decent smelling brew.

Taste however differs and is much better than it smells. It feels like a stronger Heineken with a quick, bitter, dry finish. There's another flavor buried underneath which I can't make out, but it contributes to the spiciness and makes this a pretty flavorful brew.

Mouthfeel is watery and somewhat of a letdown as there's really no big shebang in terms of aftertaste. After the bitterness sets in, it goes down quickly.

Drinkability is good. While it doesn't have much as far as appeal, it does have good taste. A six pack of this is plenty for a good dinner. Decent.

16.9 oz. beer, best by date of 12-12-08,

A: Pours a pale golden colour with a small soapy white head, good clarity.

S: Standard light sugar and bread, with a hint of hops.

T: Taste is predominately pale malt with a bit of grassy/floral Sazz-esque hops cold. As it warms up, certainly some DMS corn flavour comes out, and a husky grain overall malt bill.

M: Light-bodied, crisp, a bit of a sulfur undertone, mineraly.

D: Standard, average Euro lager, nothing outstanding, but cheap and goes down easy.

Golden color, no head, very little carbonation. Maybe this stuff doesn't travel well, or its older than it should be. On the back it has a "thermometer" when the zywiec label shows on a picture of its beer it's ready to drink (similar to coors light rocky mountain deal) which makes me think they want it to be so cold I can't taste it. I smell a cabbage skunk malt and noble hop on this. Tastes similar to how it smells. If my memory serves me well it reminds me of a St. Pauli Girl. The barley and noble hops pull through but it's a little skunky and pilsner-like. Fairly drinkable euro lager, more flavorful and more barley than your average american macro. Don't usually like this style but I've yet to try anything from Poland and I've gotta cover the globe. Not horrible.

Pours a clear gold with two fingers of fluffy white head. Head dissipates in 1-2 minutes, leaving a thin haze on the top of the beer and a few gobs around the rim. Nice carbonation visible. Smells musty, like damp hay or grass. A little yeasty. Apple sweetness turns bitter very quickly. Sharp carbonation and a very thin, watery body. Bitterness lingers too long for me to enjoy this beer; I'm not enthused about finishing this one, let alone opening another one.

Has a normal pale yellow appearance to it, minimal head. Strong hop aroma, along with a hint of blackstrap molasses even a smaller tinge of honey. Tasted sweet to my palette-probably a beer I'd have after a meal but not during. Actually left a pleasant aftertaste. Not great, but not bad, either.

well, the BEERchitect described it perfectly, in my opinion, but here's my take on it as well:

pours a beautiful clear gold, stifled and spotty on the pure white head. head dissipates quickly.

sniffs a bit acrid. nebraska grains and dirt. actually smells like georgia red clay after a slight rain.

on the tongue, it's juicy, yet unoriginal. has a bit of a beck's/pilsner urquell quality. i do like the very tart and quenching crispness to it. breadish and pilsner malts certainly peer through on this one. that is it's selling point in my book. this is a fantastic beer for the beach or being outside in the sun doing chores or something. it's certainly not a beer you'd flaunt around to your friends.

very light on the palette, crisp, aerated, lots of good carbonation.

again, this is more of an upper class session beer. something your boss would buy in bulk to serve at the company christmas party. my rating will seem a bit too generous, but i tried this beer on the suggestion from a pal who loves it...so i have his enthusiasm still lingering in my perception.

I tried this beer on March 12, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBOI outlets. The beer poured a nice translucent gold colour with a minimal white head. The aroma was mainly grainy malts with nothing else. The mouthfeel mwas medium bodied with ample carbonation. The flavour was similar to the aroma in that it was very malty with very little other discernable flavours. This beer is readily available in Canada, but is simply an average brew at best. Not something I would consider buying again.

I believe this is the first and only Polish brew I have had. I could never pronounce the name correctly until I actually asked a Polish couple. (For those who are unsure it is zi-vee-ic). Unfortunately it wasn't too impressive. Probably considered the Budweiser of Poland. I had it well chilled in a pint glass. Poured a bright yellow color with a decent white head. Smell was faint with some grassy hops and mild malt sweetness. Taste was thin with a little balance of malt and hops. It is pretty easy drinking but that is all it has for itself.

Yellow golden - light straw actually with a fine puffy white head. Aromas of sweet grains, faint sulfur, and a touch of metal. What can I say - the flavor is very much the same with a neutral balance of malt v. hops. The mouth feel is just below medium and it has a sweet grain finish with a little sour edge. Not quite a beer to seek out, but it came in quite handy when washing down two andouille sausages with sweet relish, mustard and chili.

Eh, it's beer. It begins with a crisp malt character, mixed wiht some cereal, raw grains with a pilsner malt sweetness and mild astringency. lightly hopped, adding a mild tea-like flavor and bitterness that barely offsets the sweetness. Moderate acidity takes the shape of tomatoes and sulfer, however kinda add to the complexity in a wierd sort of way. A buttery flavor becomes more prominent in the texture, but does add some flavor -- like pop corn. Both crisp an dslick in the mouthfeel, but finishes with a hearty grain flavor. probably a fine beer to chase down the polish sausages.

A: pours a crystal clear gold with a formidable 2-finger white head that has decent retention and leaves some lacing. Virtually no visible carbonation.

S: quite malty, bready and sweet with a touch of grassiness from the hops and a touch of minerals as well.

T: malty up front with slight hoppage in the middle leaving somewhat of a metallic, nutty, slightly bready aftertaste - pretty average at best.

M: light, a tad oily, decent carbonation but lacks a really clean finish.

D: Hey, this is an o.k. lager, a bit too sweet and not as clean as I hoped. Nevertheless, it's pretty easy to drink. Worth a try, but Poland offers much better beers than this one.

Another quick review.

Picked up a bottle in Hamburg, Germany.

Pours out a golden brown. Looks good but has some raging carbonation that not only fuels the head but makes it grow for a minute or two... while I play rockband.

Ahem, anyway - grains are apparent through the smell. Hoppy indeed. Not much else going on.

Taste is hoppy, little honey thing in the distance somewhere. Grainy. Bitter start to finish with a nonexistant aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is decent due to the carbonation. That's about it.

A drinkable beer after you've had a few. Nothing to go out of your way for.

Apperance of a lighter beer, had lots of "floaties" in my bottle though, is this normal?

Smell is very strong of some type of not of this earth fruitiness.

Taste is of the same, interesting but not that great.

Mouthfeel is fine maybe a little too carbonated but ok.

Drinkabilty is also fine I could have another but I'm not sure I would want to.

500ml big ass can. Pours out a pale, golden yellow with a very small head. The head doesn't last and only a few bubbles are visible making their way up. Smell isn't as bad as I was expecting. Some malt with even a hint of hops.

Taste is weak. Short, uninspiring and relatively flat. The middle does hold some slight malty type flavors but that's about it. Maybe some bready notes in there? On a hot sunny day, this might hit the spot. I would reach for this over anything macro light (lite).

Won't buy again but fun to try.

A- Transparent golden straw color with minimal head and lacing.

S- Light grassy smells and subtle hop aromas. Not much in the nose department.

T- Light hop bittering with same grassy straw carrying over.

M- Thin in the mouth and high carbonation.

D- High point if there was one. Light and somewhat quenching.

Overall- Seems like just a standard macro lager. Nothing special here, just a little stronger on ABV.

Poured a sparkling clear yellow into my standard mug. This beer is heavily carbonated, creating a frothy white head that lingers for a few minutes. The smell is a little hoppy, some grains present. There is a bitter hop taste that is up front with this one, and I also detect a honey-like sweetness in the background, malts, or corn. Although I wouldn't expect corn in a beer of this quality. Overall, a descent Polish Pils.
