I got this because I've got a friend whose Polish. It was more expensive that it should be, but the bottle is quite cool. I was glad I got it.

The smell is reminicent of any cheap "german" lager that's spent some time under hte flourecents. The smell is skunky. The color is very clear and golden. The filters must work well. The beer has a good taste and mouthfeel, if you're drinking pilsners, but its nothing special. It really doesn't have any characteristic flavor. Its cool to say I've had polish beer though.

Upon its departure from the 500ml brown bottle, the beer takes up temporary residence in my glass a clarion gold color with the head as white as a cloud on a summer's day and the texture semi-creamy, after its demise, the lace forms a thin white veil to obfuscate the glass. Nose is malt, crisp and fresh with the start sweet and malt laden, top is skimpy in feel. Finish is light to moderate in carbonation, the hops apropos to the style, dry lingering aftertaste.

A good solid (but unspectacular) Pils flavor, plenty hoppy and zesty. Clear gold is the color of the beer, the head is as white as a cloud with an odd, dark yeasty glow in the profile. Finished better than, say, Rolling Rock, and I will give it another chance someday.

An exceptionally clear, straw-gold body is topped by a foamy, bright-white head that dissipates quickly, and eventually leaves a completely flat surface. The nose is gently floral over sweet malt with some herbal hop character. A light/medium body is complemented by a fine, and restrained, carbonation. It's exceptionally smooth, although somewhat watery in the mouth. Clean, lightly-grainy sweet malt dominates the palate with a touch of herbal hop flavor adding some character. The bitterness plays a supporting role and the finish is short and clean. A refreshing lager that's not so great to look at and lacks character.

My Polish father-in-law brought this over to the house. Decent, with a liight malt and hop taste. There is a slight hop bitterness that makes it quite refreshing. Very similar to other european lagers. Made me want to eat pierogies and kapusta...

This was the beer(s) I ordered at Polonia (Hamtramck). Even though it says "Pilsner" on the label, I would describe this more as a Munich Helles style. Amber yellow, with an almost non-existent nose, this beer's reason for being is smoothness. Good body with a plump maltiness that avoided sweetness with a combination of what must be high quality water, liberally applied, and just enough hops to keep it clean tasting. The meal was fantastic by the way.

Presentation: 16.9 oz Euro style brown bottle. No freshness date. States that they brew the beer with pure soft spring mountain water.

Appearance: Thin wispy white lace that slowly dissipates on top of the pale golden crystal clear brew, champagne like carbonation shows bubbles racing to the top of the glass.

Smell: Rose water and herbal hop come to mind, light alcohol in the nose with some sweet grain notes.

Taste: Moderate body as well as the carbonation, herbal hop flavour is quite significant to the flavour profile though the bitterness is not overwhelming. A clean grainy flavour is throughout from start to finish, bitterness tags along hand and hand and complements the grain overtones. More flavour from the hops comes towards the end with a clean spiciness. Vague residuals with trace fusel alcohol flavours in the finish.

Notes: Not bad, quick and clean though the head lacks and the malt is a little two dimensional. A good beer to wash down a plate of pierogies and spicy mustard.
