Tap at tuckerman's tavern
Creamy smaller head with lots of lacing, semi clear dark copper mahogany brown color.
Nose is malty, light semi sweet toasty med roasted malts with some crystal and caramel, light reddish malts, and some lighter herbal earthy hops, touch of a creamy like malt too.
Taste has some darker malts again, brown sweet toasty malts, reddish malts, crystal, caramel, light toffee, very light biscuit and slight hint of powdered chocolate, then earthy hops, light herbal, decent bitterness. It gets some light and soft lager like fruits too, and a tad watery. Finishes semi sweet and slightly bitter with lingering malts and light spicy hops.
Mouth is med to a bit lighter bodied, lower but decent enough carb.
Overall not bad, nothing special, a but lighter than I expected, but a nice malt profile, maybe a bit light on the hops as well.

Pouring to a cloudy brown color, Headwell Alt has a light aroma of bread and roasted malts. The head of foam looks very nice and it does leave some good lacing as you consume.
Tasting this beer reveals a product that is approachable and it certainly grows on you. The beer has a flavor that follows from its nose, with the tastes of roasted malt, biscuits, bread, some dark fruit, caramel, toffee, and some earthy hops. Nuts and malt seem to be the dominate flavors here and there is only a small touch of bitterness.
This beer is a tad on the sweeter side and while nothing amazing, it is an agreeable, everyday brown ale that most will find good enough to recommend. As I said, it is very approachable and makes a good choice when you want some brown ale to serve guests and don’t want to offend anyone.
