Appears an amber brown with a small white head with some decent, solid lacing.
Smell is of grassy earthiness hops with a bit of a funky skunkiness.
Taste is not true to the German Alt style in my opinion. In fact, I'm not sure what this is. It kind of reminds me of a hopped up amber ale.
Mouthfeel is of that same grassiness that isn't very pleasant but it is drinkable.
Drinkability is not very good. I only got this because I'm a fan of the Alt style.

Pouring to a cloudy brown color, Headwell Alt has a light aroma of bread and roasted malts. The head of foam looks very nice and it does leave some good lacing as you consume.
Tasting this beer reveals a product that is approachable and it certainly grows on you. The beer has a flavor that follows from its nose, with the tastes of roasted malt, biscuits, bread, some dark fruit, caramel, toffee, and some earthy hops. Nuts and malt seem to be the dominate flavors here and there is only a small touch of bitterness.
This beer is a tad on the sweeter side and while nothing amazing, it is an agreeable, everyday brown ale that most will find good enough to recommend. As I said, it is very approachable and makes a good choice when you want some brown ale to serve guests and don’t want to offend anyone.
