Purchased in Visby at Systembolaget. My label reads VIT Weissbier, and states 5.8% alc by vol.

Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a 1.5 cm white head.

Smells citrus, for sure, with notes of vanilla, cloves, and wet grain.

The mouthfeel is slick, with good, sharp carbonation.

The taste is definitely weiss. I detect coriander, citrus zest, pineapple, melon, a bit of simple syrup sweetness, and a light bitter zip. There seems to be a touch of roasted or toasted malt in there, which seems to really set it apart from most of the typical offerings for this style. The aftertaste is spicy, with the remnants of the small bitter zip.

Great offering. I'll have it again.

I love this. Fruity (citrus and banana), and als a bit of a yeasty nose. Lovely hazy orange/peach colour, but has a short lasting head. yeasty and dry, sour, dry and slightly acidic, definitely citric. Hints of banana, clove and pepper, tasty.

(As Vit Sommaröl (Weissbier)) Released June 2007.

A: Hazy golden with a good two finger white head with rather big bubbles.
S: Yeast, coriander, grapefruit, pickles, dill.
T: Yeast, coriander, citrus, dill. some bitterness. Yeast and citrus in the aftertaste, and some of that pickle.
M: Below medium body, good carboration.

Very balanced and nice. I love this beer. Much better than expected. Perfect summer drink.

A "Chill Hazed" lemon yellow color with a prestigious white head that is modest in size and a frothy consistency, with the lace formed by its demise fine sheets to cover the glass. The nose brisk like that of a fresh cut lime also hits of malt, somewhat musty or earthy if you prefer. Sweet at the start, the top skinny in feel and the finish astringent, tart with hints of sweetness, well hopped, dry aftertaste, and quite a “Different” tasting beer and I mean that in the good sense, what a pleasure. I must say I regret over looking Sweden as a home for great beer.

Review of this year's batch (2008).

Hazy orange colour. Relatively small head for a hefe. No lacing

Sweet yeasty wheat smell.

More carbonation than one expects. Actually a little taste of alcohol. Tastes of grass and cloves.

Has a bitter mouthfeel which helps to add to your thirst.

I like it. It holds a lot of drinkability.

Poured with a swirl in a weissbier glass.

The colour is orange with a tint of brown; the finger thick head is white and very airy. No lacing. Liquid is hazy.

The smell is sour and fresh with notes of bananas, yeast, wheat bums and hints of barley malt and spices. Nice and balanced.

The taste is mildly sour with some earthy/yeasty notes. Notes of tropic fruits (bananas, apricots, peaches, mango…) and some minerals. The mid-long aftertaste got some sweet flavours of banana toffee and fruit salad and some very light yeast and iodine.

The carbonation is strong and refreshing with medium sized bubbles. The liquid is a little thick.

The previous wheat beers from Slottskällans didn’t really convince me, but this one is a solid Hefe Weisen!

First review in over 2 weeks...damn.

A: Orange/Brownish and hazy with a small, white, head.

S: Bananas, Yeast, Caramel, Wheat, Spices. Just as it should be!

T: Barley malt, Cloves, Fruits, Earth, Citric notes.

M: Very refreshing with plenty of carbonation. An easy drink.

A good hefeweizen from Slottskällan that i'll definitely want to drink again during a warm summerday. Recommended!
