Pours clear (not appropriate for the style) light straw with a dense white head. Wonderful fragrent aroma of oranges and corriander with a little sweet maltiness in the background. Taste was weak and did not live up to the aroma; was expecting some characteristic wit sourness which was sadly missing. Was also seriously lacking in body. Easy to drink, but not really enticing you into another one.

Mac's Blonde, classy-looking new kiwi beer with an orange label, crenellated neck and generally looks pretty arty and hand-made. "Nothing artificial", message from the brewer on the back, no freshness date.
Doesn't look bad - nice pale yellow colour. Not cloudy, and very pale, but the head settles nicely then mostly dissipates. Leaves a lacing, very little carbonation.
The label states "best consumed at 6 deg C", which it is, and it smells vaguely of lemon, and some sort of grassy vegetable, likely coriander. That sounds appropriate, but the scent is very weak.
Taste: A nice boutique microbrewed piece of work. Better than I could do, and generally tastes like a boutique beer (probably because the ingredients are good quality and it's been handled well). I'm quite happy with it, especially since it's from this region. The more I drink, the more it grows on me. Not too watery, but still refreshing. The front of my tongue is numbed, but the back has some strange taste of unusual malt or something. But this is not altogether bad. What the hey, it's a Good beer.
I'd have to say the mouthfeel is the weak point of this beer. Thin, without much depth, and after a little while it just seems to get gulped down the throat. A bit of sediment would beef it up.
Drinkability: If some pub in Nelson, NZ were my local, and this were on tap, and I could afford it, then hell yeah I'd support local brewers. The lemon is maybe a bit overdone but otherwise this could stand up to repeated assaults against my liver.
Dunno if you're a boy or a girl, Tracy Bauer, hopefully a girl, because Tracy is a stupid name for a guy, but I've never been to NZ, and don't bash me up if you're a ruff Maori, but anyway I don't mind your beer one bit.

My guess is that this is meant to be a Witbier. Has all the hallmark characteristics on the bottle anyway. And is flavoured with coriander and orange peel.
Appearance:
Very carbonated for a wit, clear body (not true to style) and rather darker than you'd expect.
Smell:
Well, there are Wit characteristics there. You get some of the spicyness from the coriander and so forth, but there's a real lagery undertone to it, like a heavy maltiness of something that you might see in a darker style of lager. It's also remarkably sweet, almost candylike at times. Not just the fragrant sweetness from the spice and hops you expect.
Taste:
The sweetness is most prominent here too, almost to a sickening degree. This isn't refreshing and fragrant, it's sweet: like a sweet sweet cider or something. It needs some dryness in there to pull it back.
Eh. I mean, as a beer it's reasonably drinkable, but it's a shockingly bad example of a wit. My guess is it's an attempt at a wit-style but played to a public that wants a lager. But it just goes wrong.
