330ml bottle. Snifter glass. Enjoyed on may´12. Dark brown color. Beige, lasting, close head. Subtle Bamberg malt aromas & floral notes. Spicy malt upfront rounded by slightly bitterness with vinous touch. Medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Woody & fruity aftertaste. Refreshing with pleasant drinkability.

First had: on tap at Ebenezer's Pub, Lovell, ME
Poured slightly hazy, dark amber in color, with a healthy cap of beige head that displayed moderate retention and lacing. Aroma was malt-dominant, dark sugars, roasty, with herbal notes. More of the same in the taste, dark roasty malts, burnt caramel, herbal and floral notes with subtle touches of citrus...not particularly smokey from what I remember, but maybe just a bit of ashiness present; lasting bitterness in the finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation, tasty, and quite drinkable overall.

Bottle from Glenn at Alvinne. Brewed for a bokbier festival, to stand out a bit from the crowd.
A: Dark maroon with a light tan head just at the rim, and good lacing.
S: Aroma of subtle smoke, pine sap, and burnt caramel.
T: Malts are dominant, smoke some in late during the slightly bitter finish. Nicely complex.
M: Medium body.
D: Creative entry for the bokbier festival, a nice beer overall.
