500ml bottle. Tumbler glass. Enjoyed on mar´13. Burnish brass in color, veiled appearance. Off-white froth shows fairly good retention. Aromas of wood, bourbon, toasted malts, alcohol & molasses. Fruity, slight toasted malt& gentle bitter flavors remain hidden by Bourbon flavor. Medium body.High carbonation. Watery texture. Hot sensation. Bourbon all over. Dissapointing from Alvinne.

One of the highlights of the day at christmas beer festival Essen

Hazy orange to copper colour, no head.
Smells lots of wood, whiskey, sweet, some peat.
Tastes sweet, bourbon, wood , with a nice vanilla taste ,Very nice !
Medium to full body, low fizzy carbo.

On tap at the Alvinne tasting room

A: golden colour with white head that disappears quickly

S: apples, vanilla, some white grapes and oak

T: vanilla up front, green apples, touch of warming alcohol and some pleasant sweetness

M: medium bodied with nice carbonation

O: Interesting beer, I thought that the combination of vanilla and white fruits worked rather well.

I bought 4 bottles, opened the first one tonight. I'll save the rest of them for a tasting with some other BA's.

very interesting, cause I just love a bourbon barrel aged beer.
The smell of this one was just so fruity and fresh I had to score this as exceptional. A nose biter. No question.

tastewise, a lovely mixture of vanilla, light fruit, fresh apple, wood, apricot. Just very good.

Mouthfeel is silky & creamy, and I like that. A bit high on the alcohol, but not disturbing.

Just a very good beer from Alvinne!

A big thanks to Greg for sending me this one. I was a bit surprised to find that Alvinne had aged this beer in a bourbon barrel. Shared at a Sour Fest Eve tasting.

A: The pour is a slightly hazy golden straw color with a bit of yeast sediment finding its way into the glass.

S: Quite a bit of bright fruit notes in the nose. I pick up some apples, pears, lemons, and maybe even some white grapes. The bourbon/vanilla is subtle, as is the oak.

T: The fruit character is just as prevalent on the palate. The bourbon comes through a bit more and provides a bit of warmth and some vanilla flavor. Lots of white grapes and apples really stand out and keep this one "light" for such a strong beer.

M: The body is surprisingly light (in a good way) for such a potent beer. Good carbonation, which I was not expecting either.

D: This was dangerously easy to drink. I think I was the only person that was a real big fan of this one at the tasting, but I thought it was quite interesting, especially compared to American bourbon barrel beers.
