Picture an oak tree surrounded by mushrooms on a vineyard that also produces apple cider vinegar, thats what this beer tastes like.....and its delicious. I really enjoyed this one. A good sour with natural, earthy undertones. (225 characters)

A - An opaque dark amber color, with some red hues.

S - Tart tangy, dry sour oak.

T - Definitely sour and tart. Crisp and dry with a nice oak character throughout. There is a certain earthiness here, really almost fungal in flavor.

M - Dry on the palate, tart and mildly puckering. Fizzy carbonation.

O - An interesting beer. Wild, natural, earthy, tart. A nice representation of the style. (396 characters)

Recommended by someone at the Southampton Beer Store.

Poured with a reddish-tan head that quickly subsided to a rime of fine bubbles that appear more tan. After it settles, little carbonation is obvious, but as described below it is there.

The aroma is sour with a raisin, molasses, cherry quality.

The taste is sour plum, including the tartness experienced by plum skin. Cider vinegar is also present in the taste. A bready, crusty undertone is noticeable on the finish.

It is quite acidic (even burns my sensitive stomach). It is pretty well carbonated with a medium body. (580 characters)

11.2oz capped bottle gushed upon opening. Deep reddish copper color with tan head.

Smells kinda sharp and acetic from the bottle, but out of the glass its much more rounded. More of a lactic sourness for sure. Ripe red berries, yogurt and hints of balsamic vinegar in both the nose and flavor. Intensely sour, but deliciously full fruitiness rounds it out. Would definitely buy again, especially considering the modest price. (426 characters)

This one's a winner.

Pours deep dark red with an initial nice khaki head that fades to a thin layer of light brown bubbles.

Nose is fruity esters with hints of plums and ripe stone fruit.

Mouthfeel is rich and citric/very tart acidic which makes for a very bright and exciting mouthfeel. Lightly carbonated but with great balance and texture, especially if you like tart and acidic (which I do). (Note: if you don't like citric/tart/lightly sour, this one is not for you).

Flavors are well integrated and balanced tart/acidic. Meaning, balanced if you like a high acid balance beer with lots of tart sour cherries, lemon and lime. This is a pucker beer that is great to drink alone or a perfect foil with most food profiles (as are most sour/tart beers in my opinion). No hop profile, just the nice pucker tart.

Finish follows flavor and is a nice lemon/lime/acidic quality that lingers with freshness and brightness. (927 characters)

Pours out a flat looking brown with barely any bubbles gathering around the edges of the glass. Smells of toasted malts, chocolate, light coffee, berries, earthy yeast. VERY sour and dry. Dusty cocoa , a hint of coffee, raspberry and cherry, oak, musty yeast. Mouthfeel has moderate weight. Almost no carbonation. Really good raw base beer to a blended sour brown. (370 characters)

A: The beer is extremely dark reddish brown in color (black when viewed from afar). It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that quickly died down, leaving only a few small patches of bubbles on the surface.
S: Moderately strong aromas of balsamic vinegar and sour fruits are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors balsamic vinegar and lactic acid along with notes of sour berries and plums. Slight hints of oak are noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and somewhat tart on the palate with a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a lot more tartness and vinegar-like flavors compared to other beers in the style, but is interesting to drink if you enjoy sourness and tartness. No traces of alcohol are perceptible. (775 characters)
