I just checked this place out for the first time today, and despite the fact that it looked rather poorly stocked for the size, this place had a surprisingly good selection. Immediately I gravitated to the micro section, which had the usual suspects for the area: Dogfish Head, Troegs, Victory, etc, as well as some slightly less common beers, like deep selections of Magic Hat, Appalachian, and Harpoon. I was also quite excited about the three varieties of Gearys in stock, including the wonderful HSA, and the case of Bigfoot 2003. I have yet to really determine the quality of the beverages they have, but judging by the fact that they did not seem to have more than just a few cases of anything I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for quick turnover. There were a few dusty looking import cases, but that was not what I was after today, so I didnt look too in depth. The service was really good. There were two people working and no other customers when I stopped by, and they both took the time to talk to me. I had to ask at the counter for the prices on the Gearys and Bigfoot, and both employees were noticably happy with my choices. I like that. When I purchased their last remaining case of Bigfoot, they were also nice enough to point out to me that it was over a year old, just to make sure I knew. I did not get a look at the keg selection, but when I asked if they had a list, they simply said that they could get me anything I see on draft in the county given a few days notice. Once my kegerator is running, this will be a frequent stop for me.

I know the owners, but felt like I should review as objectively as possible. The selection is above average, especially for the thorndale area. The building is heated, so it is nice to go in the winter time without freezing your face off. They will order you anything that they can get, just ask. The management is always helpful, and their pricing is very competitive. While some of the larger beer stores have a better selection, you wont find anything better from thorndale west in terms of craft.

I wandered in on a whim to see if I could find my favorite beer: Bell's Oberron. I was pleased to find a case of this fine beer and was even happier when the nice gentleman offered to take the case to my car. A nice establishment, kind, helpful staff and a good selection of beer (once you get past the mass-pleasing stuff...). As a woman, it was refreshing to be in a store that would "normally" be a "boys' club" where I wasn't talked down to or treated like a noob. Thank you, gentlemen. I will return.

Tucked behind KMart and Rufini's...

When you walk in, you see towers of the main stream beverages. However, tucked in the middle of the towering triple hopped brewed commodity beers, is their craft beer selection. Bring a local resident, I have constantly stopped in to check out their selection, but have always been disappointed.

Historically, they had your usual suspects from a local craft beer perspective, but nothing more (this included Victory, DFH, Flying Fish). Recently, they seemed to have invest more into this genre. I have seen an influx of seasonal beers (pumpkin, winter, xmas, etc), as well as Ballast Point, Weyerbacher, and others. So over all the selection seems to expanding for the best.

Unfortunately, the price marked on the box is not necessarily what you get charged. In my situation, the Ballast Point was marked $45, but I was charged $65. When I came back to discuss with the owner, he said it was an honest mistake, and he cant adjust the price.

Selection - Getting better
Service - Poor
Location - Average/reasonable
Pricing - Decent, but beware of "honest mistakes"
