This store is a bit messy, but has a good selection. Boxes of beer, opened and unopened, are scattered throughout the limited floor space. All beers on shelves and in coolers are clearly priced, and priced reasonably. Craft selection is good, there is a small amount of imports, and everything is available as singles, a huge bonus. Staff was friendly and helpful, and overall, if in Wilmington, give it a shot.

Incredible craft beer selection, probably the best in Delaware. Mikkeller, Prarie, DuClaw, Lagunitas, Weyerbacher, and many many more breweries. Can often find hidden gems on the shelves (Weyerbacher 19, Riserva 2012). Prices are second to none in the area, consistently $1-3 less per six pack than the local competitors. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

Only two complaints about this shop. First, the area is a bit dodgy. It doesn't stop me from frequenting the place, so just a heads-up. Second, they tend to keep IPAs and other meant-to-be-fresh brews on the shelves too long. Probably a byproduct of not being able to move their massive inventory quickly enough. Check the dates before purchasing anything that you want extra fresh.

These guys are a bit dodgy in terms of timeliness and what they say is offered (online). I ordered a very special/specific wine over a week ago that was to be my father's Christmas present -- and asked them to please, please save it because it was very important to me. They only responded today that they don't have it anymore... So much for my father's special Christmas gift -- it's too late to order it from anywhere else now. Annoying.

I was to pick it up at their establishment, since they don't ship anywhere but Delaware (do they ship in Delaware?), but since my order has been cancelled, I'll never see the store in person -- so I rated the store-specific qualities (atmostphere, etc.) as average, in order to be fair. Likewise on the product quality ratings (since, again, I'll never see their product). I gave them a 1.5 on service because although they were exceedingly late in letting me know that they did not have the wine in question, at least they didn't charge my card or anything that unethical.

That said, I see "my" wine is still listed as available and "on sale" on their website. I'm sure it's unintentional but it would really be best to take down the wines that are not actually available in the store -- it's misleading to customers and can cause an inconvenience (like it did for me), especially if it takes so long for the store to respond.

Another great beer store in the area. Excellent selection of micros, with a full unrefrigerated aisle of cases and bombers, as well as lots of chilled sixers and bombers. Good representation of imports as well (Delerium, Sam Smith's, etc). Sixers can be broken up, at a bit of a premium. Some great finds, including DFH Squall, Brooklyn Sorachi Ace, some great Unibroue that I haven't found anywhere in my travels within Canada yet. With this and Avenue, most micros of the area are represented. Worth a visit if you are in the area, or passing through. Have to go to State Line in Elkton, MD (South) or the shops in Philly (Foodery, Hawthorne's) if you are after other specific treats.

Went here today to see about some of them Rocheforts.Nice sized place but like 3% of the selection is beer. There are 3 fridges of cold 6packs,12 packs and other various beers. There was a 6 foot section of shleving for beer. That was a sad sight but they did have some quality stuff.I picked up a 6pack of SN bigfoot 07,2 DFH old schools barleywines, and a Rochefort 8 and 10.If I was in the area and wanted to get some beers to cellar,I would stop here again but there is no need to go out of your way to go here.

Stopped in here with DarkerTheBetter on a little Delaware road trip.

The selection here I found was small but eclectic. While not a beer destination in and of itself, they did have some great brews. I also thought the prices were beyond reasonable. They had bombers of Racer 5 for $3.95, and bottles of Rochefort 10 for $5.49. Upon seeing such a low price for the beloved Rochefort 10, I quickly snagged 4 bottles and proceeded to the check out.

For those who are also into whiskey and bourbon, they had a killer selection of single malts and blends.

Right off of Route 202 on right as you pass under 95.

This place definately leans towards wine. The selection was very dissapointing. At the time, the singles section seemed good, but in retrospect, it left me wanting more.

They had some good 750ml's, and the prices were on all of them.
Allagash, Sam Smith, Unibroue, Chimay, etc. The guy who worked there really was helpfull and took an interest in my business.

Overall, if another friend of mine asked me where to go for singles, I would have to steer him elsewhere.

Kreston's is located on th edge of the city of Wilmington. If you're on Rt. 202 just head east straight into Wilmington. Once you go under I-95 keep to the right and Kreston's will be ahead on the right.

The place was in shambles when I visited on 1-05-06. The beer is back on the left after you enter the store. They have a few cooler doors stocked with micros and imports. They also have about a 6 foot section of shelves with some goodies and a rack of Samuel Smiths. The selection was really picked over so I am not sure if what I saw was all that they carry, but I did see DFH, Tröegs, Victory, Allagash, Unibroue, Sam Smiths, Sam Adams and a few others. They have another store in Middletown that I need to check out to compare with this one. Hopefully it will be better.

Dropped my wife and her friend off at a craft store in Chadds Ford and headed down to Wilmington. This is really a neat store. You can by singles of anything they have. When I asked questions, they directed me back to the "beer guys" who were very helpful. he prices were comparable to other stores in the area and they seemed liked nice people to deal with. Any questions I had were answered promptly and competently. Nice selection of North American Microbrews, English, Belgian, other European. They told me the night before they had a beer tasting with Chimay and you received a free Chimay glass with each 750ml purchased. Worth a stop if you are in the area.
