500ml capped/waxed bottle served in a tulip. Bottled on 10/10/18. Don't remember where or when I got it.
Second pour has a bunch of sediment in it. The first pour is a translucent, deep, rich, red, small head. Not much carbonation. Smell is gorgeous dark cherries and tartness.
Taste is tart and cherry with a strong skin/stem bitterness.
Mouthfeel is dry. Overall, quite nice.

16oz bottle, dated 10/10/18, poured into 14oz teku. Poured a murky brown color, not really red at all, with just a thin cap of khaki head that low retention and no lacing.
A bold tartness emanated from the bottle when the cap was finally freed (Fucking Wax! Lighten up on that shit brewers!). on closer sniffing there were notes of wood, fruit, and wine.
Very similar on the tongue, but bigger, bolder, and more. The wood was sturdier, the fruits more well defined, and the tartness very sharp.
The body was on the light side of medium, smooth, and peaked with a very tart dryness on the finish.
Drinkability was good, but this is certainly a sipper, not a gulper.
Overall, a very nice brew. A must grab if you see a straggler on the shelves.

Another review from March Madness 2015. Almost closed that year out. This was one of my first forays into Deschutes wild offerings. Might be less enthusiastic than that spaz Body.
Pours a brown and dark reddish color. Tan head only amassing 1/5" sits. Aroma went for a flanders like earthiness, plenty of acetic vinegar like notes. Some wood beyond that. Per the commercial tug job, the 13 distinct ecosystems aren't showing up.
Taste has a lot of cranberry notes, a mix of oud bruin/flanders red and brown malt influence. Still pushing vinagerette territory. Way too much alcohol going on, wish they would dial it back, like, cut it in half. Sting. A bit of dark cherry and grape notes, but not enough to cover up the less savory aspects of the beer.
Ultimately this was too acetic, too boozy and too expensive given everything going on. Would way rather bang Oude Tart for a similar price. Sour and tart notes dulled by alcohol and vinegar.

Pours a turbid & effervescent brown with minimal tan head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Vinegar, leather, & figs
T: Sour cherry, much dryness, much from oaky barrel notes, also tart apples up front. A touch of red grape & golden delicious apple and intense dryness, plus a touch of sour apple as this warms. Finishes with sweet Golden Delicious apple, fairly pronounced dryness & just a little vinegar twang
MF: Medium body, delicate carbonation
A solid take on this style that has little different slant on it. It doesn't make the very short list of non Russian River wilds that I would buy again, but close

Had on tap. Pours clear, reddish brown in color with minimal head. Taste is sour mix, oak, and barrel. Medium light bodied, sour, with moderate carbonation. Good sour beer.

Bottled October 10th 2018 and it's 12%abv.
Pours a hazy mahogany, smells of cherries, raspberries, tannins, light funk.
The taste adds some of that rum barrel aging. Though boozy, it's tolerable. The fruitiness is massive and the level of sourness is up there as well, but that's what I expected from a sour red Ale.
Medium bodied with fairly lively carbonation.
Pretty darned tasty.

On tap. Poured an opaque, dark brown color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of dark cherry, green apple and toffee. Nice tart cherry and apple taste with some sweet malt.

22oz bottle into snifter. Bottled 3/12/14.
A: Pours a ruddy iced tea color with a finger of fuzzy dark tan head that slowly faded into a thin collar.
S: Lightly tart and funky notes mixed with dark fruits, red fruits, and candied fruits. I get hints of red apple, candied dates, hints of leathery and caramely oxidization,
T: Musty barrel flavors of leather and earthy spice beneath tart but mellow acidity. I get flavors of tannic red grape skins, raisins, slight acetic acid, clean lactic acid, with leather and powdered chocolate in the finish. Red fruits and musty brett as well. Brett has light sour/bitterness. Very slight bandaid. Slight mushroom, earth and spice.
M: Medium-full body, very drying and gritty mouthfeel, fluffy carbonation, bitter finish. Acidity is mellow and smooth. There's a light tingly and bright quality to the carbonation.
O: Drinks well. Integrated layers of flavor with a clean and mellow tart bite. Tasted like this would be a good cheese pairing beer. Solid.
