Picked some of this up for an in-law, I mean, its another pale ale. Can it really touch mirror pond?
Well, it pours a dullish brown yellow with a slight head. Nothing fancy.
The aroma is also fairly routine. Mild citrus aroma, but a somewhat assertive stale malt aroma. Its not bad, but not that alluring.
The taste is pretty good, but it takes a while to grow on you. Its a rather solid blend of pale malt with a somewhat green and simple hop side. It makes for easy drinking, but it has an accumulating dry barley hull sensation.
Needless to say, its a decent summer beer, but really adds nothing to Deschutes formidable line.
