Picked up a single of this beer from a friend of mine. A week went by as it sat in the fridge since I forgot I had this lol

Appearance: Shows off a nice, clean amber-orange with a slight haze of yellow. Not much head but has a nice thick lacing that sits well

Smell: Has a nice citrus, orange hoppy aroma. Something that I couldn't wait to take a nice, savory sip

Taste: Very delicious balance of hops and citrus flavoring. Has a sweet start that just exploded with a hint of honey. I can taste only a spec of bitterness.

Mouthfeel: It was a full bodied brew, but it didnt really surprise me too much. It went down smooth with little bitterness, but I was expecting something more light.

Overall: A very delicious one indeed. Glad I picked this up from my friend. This is a great example of a beer that can be enjoyed on a hot, summer day as the sun is setting. I would definitely pick this up again if/when I see it. If your a fan of a decent summer beer, this one is for you

This is a damn fine summertime beer. Pours with a nice frothy white head with big bubbles. Very good lacing on the sides all the way down. Beer is a slightly cloudy yellow-orange color.

Smell is very nice. Citrus hops and a hint of sweet caramel. And not overwhelmingly hoppy, because that’s not what you need on a 101 degree day – you need something a little lighter on the tongue and more refreshing.

Taste is excellent. Slightly floral. Citrus hops. Mouthfeel is dense enough to be full and beery but light enough to be smooth and refreshing.

Well balanced, excellent summer brew. Very, very high on drinkability. This just doesn’t get old. It’s the 3rd day in a row that I’ve had one, and very few beers interest me past the 2nd or 3rd bottle. I will get it again.

Appearance - Pours a slightly hazy golden honey yellow. Head is white, frothy and sits 3 fingers thick. Good retention, and the resulting lace is thick and sticky.

Smell - Floral hops, backed by notes of citrus and a slightly bready malt aroma.

Taste - Starts with a light buttery sweetness before a mildly bitter lemon rind like hop kicks in midtaste, peaking quickly before fading away into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Light in body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Goes down smooth and easy.

Overall - A decent summer ale. The flavor is fairly one dimensional, and leads toward that lemony citrus hop, but overall it's gentle and an easy drinker. If you're looking for something to challenge your taste buds, steer clear. Nothing off-putting, but a tad boring.

Bright, sunset orange; hazy; good head and lacing

Bright hop notes, seems like Cascade and maybe Amarillo—definitely citrus. Wonderful orange aroma—very inviting.

Orange flavor abounds! Really good ale here. Light enough in body but plenty of flavor to enjoy. Another extra tasty brew by Descutes. A noticeable and enjoyable amount of biscuit malt flavor to balance and even accent the hops. Finish has a good herbal or maybe stone-fruit quality; it’s drying and flavorful. Really like it. Especially love the malt side to this bright and hoppy beer; it’s tremendously balanced and drinkable. Exceptional flavor in the finish. (Website says Northern Brewer, Amarillo, Cascade, Tettnang, Brambling Cross hops were used.)

Awesome summer seasonal! I may like this even more than Mirror Pond and Inversion. So easy to drink and oh so enjoyable as well. This one just jumped into my top 5 for 2012 so far.

12 oz brown bottle with a "Best By" freshness date on the label.

LOOK: Sudsy foam leaves behind some white lacing on the glass, shiny golden color shows off its clarity

SMELL: Oily hops, citrus, white tea leaves, blond tobacco, a little fruity, biscuity

TASTE: Decent smoothness, moderate body, toasted grain, citrusy hop, mild malt sweetness, drying bitterness, earthy tobacco, finishes semi-dry

A downright well balanced APA, light enough to quaff in the dead of summer and flavorful enough to keep your taste buds in check.

Pours a clear golden color with a large white head that disappears quickly. Scent is a well-balanced blend of hops and malt...with a bit of grain. Some faint citrus aromas. Taste is quite refreshing...almost like German malts with a nice hop presence. Some light citrus hop notes with balancing carmel malt. Nothing too much going on here, just a refreshing easy-drinkin beer. Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Drinkability is high. Overall, this is a good session beer. Like I said, not much going on, but a good summer beer for when you're out mowing the lawn.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours clear gold with 2-3 fingers of fluffy white head. Light carbonation.

N: Not too much going on in the nose. Very light Pilsner-like malts and that's pretty much it.

T: Incredibly light flavor. I can only taste pilsner malts along with a slight floral bitterness. Maybe a zip of pine?

M: Light-medium bodied, creamy and smooth.

O: Muh. Very bland. Not much going on at all. Miller-Bud-Coors drinking would probably like this.

Beautiful SF day.
Pours a lemony copper tone almost orange in tone. Light medium head is nice.
Smell is orange, juicy hop foward. Citrus fruits, tangerines, valencia orange. Grain bill plays a subtle tone in the background, adding just enough of a background for the pleasant hop profile.
Taste is light, but well balanced and not overly fruity. Little biscuit, orange, and pepper, especially in the finish. I detect pale and carapils malts in there as well, Amarillo hops serve to spice and add a nice kick.
Body is medium, refreeshing and really overall a nice find. A great summer beer that will now take its place in my summer lineup among Anchor summer and Sierra Nevada offerings.

A: Pours a golden, copper in color with a finger of thick, creamy white foam atop. A good amount of carbonation is present and there's plenty of lacing around the glass edge as you drink. Inviting and looks to be refreshing.

S: A good mixture of citrus, pine resin, honey and lightly toasted malts attack the nose. Seems to be fairly balanced, but slightly hop-forward, especially as it warms.

T: Much as the aroma led me to believe, this one is pretty well balanced, but slightly hop-forward. Zesty citrus blends with the lightly toasted malts before unveiling a more grainy, pine resin and barley backbone. Definitely has the flavor of a Deschutes brew, especially in the malts.

M: Definitely on the lighter side. Body feels pretty thin, almost watery. Although there was ample carbonation on the pour, it almost feels a bit flat as you get to the last of it. I could definitely use a bit more chewiness. The lightness does lend to its drinkability, however, I think this is the weak point of the brew.

O: Overall, I felt this beer to be pretty much as advertised: a great end-of-the-day summer brew that will satisfy your cravings for flavor but also be light enough to have a few. Not the most flavorful or complex offering from this brewery, but it fills a niche quite well. Cheers!
