Had on tap at the yard house in san diego

A - Deep golden amber with thin head with nice sheets of lacing left behind.

S - Nice citrus tropical notes with some floral piney hops. Nice bold notes.

T - Has some nice tropical noted with some grapefruit flavors. There is some nice malts to add body in the middle and some nice floral aromatic hops. Had nice bitterness at the end.

M - Medium body, nice carbonation, well balanced with a nice bitterness and resin feeling left behind.

D - Thought this was a good beer, nothing over powering but was a good beer that I will search out again. Another good one from Deschutes,

Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.

Picked up a 6-pack to drink over the weekend while on vacation in Vail. Drinking the last of pack now and ready to review.

Poured from 12oz bottle to pint glass.

A - The beer pours a nice copper color with a slight haze and bright white head. Decent retention and lacing.

S - A nice floral nose with hints of fruit and almost a floral tint.

T/M - The flavor is very balanced with a nice reprentation of hop bitterness with a nice caramel sweetness which contributes to a medium body with adequate carbonation. Pretty smooth and crisp.

D - Very easy to put down.

Overall, this is a good Pale Ale. Perhaps not the best as it doesn't really stand out but it's solid. I'd happily buy again.

Enjoyed on-tap @ Cadillac Bar & Grill in Jackson, WY for $4.50. Tapped from the Wooden Handle w/ Deschutes down the throat of it & a "mirror pond" with mountains above it into a 16oz Pint Glass.

Aroma- Has a good amount of hop in the aroma but mostly a variety from the UK and lighter... Nothing else comes up.

Appearance- Received with a 1 finger head but dies quickly. Has a copper colored body and clear. Leaves good lacing behind.

Flavor- Corn and slight malts come up in the taste too quickly... Hops were not a first impression. Where are they? Barely a light bitterness level here.

Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and finishes sweet but brutal.

Overall Impression- This Mirror Pond in front of me HAS to be due to an old/over due keg or line problems... I will be reviewing the bottle I picked up from Lukas Liquor soon. I surely cannot recommend this beer from what I had to sit through with this version. An English Pale Ale at best...

A-Pours out a transparent amber body with a cap consisting of 2 fingers worth of slowly dying, stark white foam and leaving thick, chunky rings of lacing.

S-Mild citrus, light caramel, fresh bread, floral hops and a soft grassy note.Hint of hops on a solid pale malt base.

T-More bright citrus,pale malts,green apple,light pine,toffee and a floral/grassy finish.Nice example of a hop forward but not overly hopped pale ale.

M-Crisp and clean with a light body and a pleasantly bitter finish.

O-Real nice and I'm looking forward to drinking a few of these during warmer months.

Presentation: 22oz brown bomber, with nice label and clearly-stamped best by date; right on! Great to finally have Deschutes in Missouri!

Appearance: Poured into my Schlafly APA glass, this pours a bright orange-copper brew with low, steady carbonation and a nice, chunky ivory cap with good retention and nice lace.

Smell: Nice, bright citrus and pine aromas. A very mild malt backbone. This is fresh, bright, and quite nice...the aromas aren't anything new or particularly ground-breaking, but they're dead solid and quite pleasant.

Taste: Nice orangey citrus hop notes, with a strong, lightly toasty malt background. Medium, firm bitterness and a bit of minerality on the finish. Lots more malt than suggest by the aromas...nice balance of malt/hops/bitterness/hint of minerality. Drinkable? Oh yeah.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium

Overall: SOLID American Pale Ale. $2.99 for a bomber? Heck yes. This is a solid B+, something that for the price would be an easy call to pick up whenever you're in the mood for an APA. This makes a nice counterpoint to Schlafly's more earthy, dank Dry-Hopped APA.
